i know these irons are hot, but im curious to know if anyone has seen these for under $800. I'm seriously thinking of getting a set as a back up to my callaway x-forged. I've only heard great things about the ap2's so far.

thanks

I doubt you would be able to find anything remotely close to And by the way, once you get these clubs, they aren't going to be your back-up set for long

To me, I think this is a two part question. Part 1) yes...you can get deals on the AP-2. Part 2) for less than $800? Doubt it. I'll explain:

When I got my AP-1's, I called my local Titleist rep to find out who the best fitter in the area was. He told me the guys name and the course he worked at, and it was a small course about 15 minutes from me. At the time of my fitting, they were running a special at the pro shop for 10% off all Titleist (and Cobra) clubs. That included both the AP-1 and AP-2 irons. After my fitting and talking with the pro, I decided to get the AP-1 irons, and he said at that time they "could even do better" on the price. I ended up getting my irons for $599, which included custom shafts and custom grips. But I believe the AP-2 irons go for about $1,000. I didn't ask the price at the time, but if it was only the 10% discount that would bring them down to $900...can't see them going for much less than that...maybe in the $875 range, but no way below $800.

But good luck in your search...never hurts to ask!

I got mine through our club pro. I paid $750 for 4-PW. I also got a new Volkey SM wedge for $85. This is about the lowest prices Ive seen for new clubs. It did take awhile for me to get the AP-2's though. Around 3 weeks. I got the project X shafts and 2 upright.
