Hi guys,

Yesterday I went looking for a 3 wood to Sports Authority. I went to the discount bins and saw a Tommy armour silver scott #2 wood, 12 degrees grafalloy shaft. I have been having some trouble with my driver so I bought it to use it off the tee, maybe I will hit it farther than my driver.

I finally got an Adams tight lies 3 wood, the Tommy armour 2 wood and a 3 iron for $29... sweet deal.

So anyone use a 2 wood for the tee? As a driver replacement? off the deck?

Ive never heard of a 2 wood until just now. The club seems like such a "one trick pony" that it would be hard for me to justify using one. Id bet it would be a good driver option for senior players, though.

2 wood was a very popular club 40 years ago. Went the way of the 4 wood, although Tour Edge still makes a 4 wood. I think the 3 wood coming in 13, 14, 15 and 15.5 lofts and drivers coming in lofts from 4 to 16 degrees is the reason. We still have 2 woods and 4 woods they just call them drivers or three woods, respectively.

Yep,

I bought it as a 12 degree driver basically, to compare trajectory with my 9.5.

But at $9 even as a novelty club it is worth it!

Yep,

I would just look at it as a 12* driver. there are plenty of them available from all of the big boys.

The 2 wood was a good alternative when they were indeed wood.
