My goal in playing yesterday (85; personal best; beat my handicap by 6) was one shot at a time because I had made a minor swing change and wanted to see how it worked on the course. I lined up my putts and generally didn't care if they went in - and a good many sank.

It is like that girl. Some of my friends have trouble in bars: they'll buy a drink for a girl they think is cute, and maybe for her friend too, they go and talk, and get nowhere. Then they wonder how I succeed when I won't buy her a drink, even when she asks. I don't even initiate the conversation. I don't think it's just golf and girls where the less you care, the more success you have.

I actually thought of the "Not Caring" tactic when I was putting, But that's when I was so focused. My last 2 rounds have been 34, 33 putts. OUCH.

With the risk of sounding like some obnoxious guru, not caring about the result really helped with my putting the last 2 full rounds ive played since the 33. Ive only taken 55 or 56 putts my last two full rounds. Which is good for me.

Its not so much active apathy, but passive. Because if you're trying to be calm you're still putting effort into trying to be calm. Just pick out a target, get over the ball and stroke. Were the ball ends up is just wherever it ends up. Nothing more. Its worked well for me the last couple rounds.

I'm having so much trouble putting, although I make the right stroke, or Am sometimes short, I constantly miss the hole, as If i cannot read the break.

But all in all, IM still very happy with my round.

33! (-2) It was like i was in some kind of zone...I nailed 4 strait birds to close the 9. Loose lazy strokes too, it was like i didnt even care if they went in or not, but they did! Id take 4 birdies over 2 full rounds. I LOVE PUTTING!! Dont you?

Some muni in belleville. I think it was called Jenkins field or something. Id never play there again, I didnt particularly care for the attitudes of the pro-shop staff. But ill take that 33!
