2 problems.

9-LW full shots pushing them like crazy. Not far pushes but never accurate like short irons SHOULD be! ????

Also , fairly inconsistent iron play to boot. I am killer off the tee straight occasional hook but usually straight 290-320 driver...I just wish I could hit better irons.

Any help?

It's almost always grip and hip turn if you can hit the driver well. Make sure your grip is neutral or neutral/strong and get your hips moving before you start your downswing and you should be fine.

Here's a trick to improve accuracy with shorter clubs: get the left hip out of the way before in your stance. You do this by moving your right foot closer to the ball. Distance may be reduced, but accuracy is the priority on these shots.

I am having the same problem, my temporary fix is a 3/4 swing.

I agree.

It's tough to push short irons like that, it's probably something very obvious...for me it was a big slide/sway on the downswing instead of a turn which was causing pushes. By going to just a 3/4 swing I was able to quiet down the lower body easier. Short irons have been pretty nice lately as a result. I basically have told myself that if I have an 8 iron or less, I'm only swining 3/4, max. The result has been better accuracy and actually increased distance due to crisp contact.
