Forgiving wedge

I'm looking for a forgiving "game improvement" wedge (56°).
I know most people here like either the Titleist SM Vokeys or the Cleveland CG12's, but I don't really consider them to be "beginners" wedges for high handicappers like myself. I have a 52° CG12 and I have a hard time to make a decent full swing with it.
I was looking at some brands and came up with a selection. Which of these would be the most forgiving?
- Cleveland CG14
- Ping iWedge
- Callaway X-20 SW (55°)
- Mizuno MX series
Do you recommend any other wedges?
I really i'm not that interested in control, because .. well, I can't control the ball yet. I'm just happy to get the ball in the air If it's easy to hit from the rough/sand that would be a nice bonus.

Many Game Improvement sets have wedges in them. You could check on those sets (such as Ping g10) and see if you like their sand wedge better than the others.

If I don't hit it exactly on the sweet spot the ball still goes more or less in the direction I'm aiming

If you have difficulties in taking a full swing with your current wedge....try taking a less than full swing with a 9I or so to make solid contact. Remember...wedges is all about 'control' and much less about distance.

Also...forgiveness isn't about directional control.... directional control is the ability to square up the face to where you are aiming.

To improve your play from rough and sand...it is all about technique and less equipment. However...if you are 'chunking' your shots often...you might consider a wedge with more 'bounce' along with working with technique.

Personally i think that all wedges are forgiving.

They are the easiest clubs to hit in your bag imo so if i were you, i would go with a wedge that feels comfortable in your hands and has a decent amount of bounce. Bounce helps in terms of forgiveness esp. if you're using the 56º from around the green. Good luck with your search and let us know what you get!

I don't have a current wedge anymore

I forgot it on the course last week and nobody turned it in at the clubhouse so I guess I'll never see it again. It was part of my BenRoss beginner's set. I didn't use my SW for chipping very much. I use my CG12 for that. My SW is for pitching/half/full swings from anywhere between the 10-100yds area from the green. My SW was my most used club so I want one I feel 100% comfortable with. Unfortunately they don't have all the brands at my local Pro Shop so I can't try some of them.

I agree with JYB, ive never had a problem hitting a wedge since the momment ive been playing. They've always been my "saftey clubs" I know there are some cavity backs and some high MOI engineered wedges out there, but it might be you're swinging too hard with the club, king norre.

If coming down to the vokey or the cg12, I prefer and play the Cleveland. The larger face and generally less bounce give me more control around the green. If you're having severe issues with control, I would look more to the swing mechanics and less to an expensive wedge as a solution.

Try not hitting a blade wedge. You may want to try the Adams A3 LW or GW. A neighbor plays both of them. Very forgiving wedge. Cobra has similar wedges. If you want to go with a blade and dont want to spend a ton, Adams has the Tom Watson set. For $99 you get 3 wedges and they feel great.

I have a set of Golden Bear M86's. They are still the blade-ish wedges, but I find them VERY easy to hit, and I'm not that great of a golfer.

I got them for $50 all 3 of them..and I LOVE THEM.
