Or even come close? I nearly did yesterday at Deerpark, Ireland where it was slightly downhill with a firm breeze behind me. I hit it 285 with about a 45 yard chip to the pin.

I've been pin high but it was barely a par 4. Only about 240 on a little "executive course" outside Boulder, Co.

I drove a par 4 last year. It was a 262 yard par 4. I ended up about 20 ft for eagle. Missed that putt. Missed my birdie putt and made par. Needless to say I was a little steamed....

A course I used to play had two driveable par 4's (278 and 305) that ofter played downwind. I hit the 278ydr regularly if I hit a strait drive. Ive bounced up on the 305 several times as well. As a defense, they were the two most ungulated greens on the course. So even a birde was no garuntee.

I did one about 6 years ago, in an community golf course in north miami called the california club. It was a par four 334 yards. The condition was clear with a breez blowing from my back. Hit my driver (callaway hawkeye vft 9 degrees) and I landed on the right side green and roll off the back. I shot maybe 100+ that day but none of the score matters as my playing partners all talked about it after the round. Awsome day.... lol

My old course had two driveable par 4's. Both of them I could play a three wood onto. My new course has one that I think I could have a go at. It plays 323 but all downhill. In these firm conditions I reckon I could pull it off. I just need an opportunity (green is empty when I get to the tee.). I don't wanna have to wait on the tee for the green to clear and then find out I can't reach it!

Twice, once by accident and once on a par-3.

One of my first times playing, I hit a great drive on a short, downhill par-4. I would've driven the green if the water hazard (which has since been removed at that course) hadn't been there.

Another time, I was at an executive course with some friends and the tees at a 210-yard "par 4" was up by 15 yards, bring it just shy of my 3-wood range (190 off a tee) and gently down breeze. The ball barely rolled on, and I three putted for what was only technically a par.

Only once, but it was it was on an executive course so it was only about a 280 yard par 4. I got lucky because i faded it too much, and then it hit a hill left of the green, and rolled down to about 10 feet.

Once... A 340 yard par 4 with a slight left->right bend in the middle. I basically cut the corner on the bend and caught a good roll on some very, VERY dry turf.

Ended up pin high by with a bunker between myself and the green. Stroke 2 went in the bunker. Stroke 3 went out of the bunker and on the the back of the green (45+ feet away from the pin). Stroke 4 came up short on the uphill. Stroke 5 was about 2 feet past the hole. Stroke 6 was the money.

So there you go boys and girls. How to drive the green on a par 4 and still make a 6.

My game has improved tremendously since this performance last year. If not, I'd have given up.

The course I grew up on in KS had a few diffrent holes you could drive, especially July-Sept with proper placement. Back then there was no irrigation, so on a good August day you could get 100+ yards roll if you landed right.

I've done it twice, but success rate is about 2%. Even then, I've never made an eagle on a 4, and rarely make Birdie. If its under 400 yards, I find a 3 wood to a wedge is a lot safer although not as sexy.

Yes, I have, and I'm not a very big hitter.

There is a 295 yd downhill par 4 at my home course. When there is down wind, you're getting there with a well hit drive. I reached it several times last summer when it was really hard out.

Plenty of times, from 297 yards to 340 (slightly downhill) yards.

I've driven off the back of the green on par 4's more than I've landed on them though.
