I couldn't sleep so I decided to look on the net for a good travel cover to safely get my clubs home for Thanksgiving. I would really like Club Glove's Last Bag but the price is the same as that of the hybrid I desperately need instead. Also, I'm a college student and you know how most of us are with regards to spending money . I found this one on eBay and will probably put a bid in later today.

What do you guys and gals recommend?

(Delete this thread if it has already been discussed. I did some searching here on the forum to see if there was already a thread dedicated to the subject but I couldn't find one.)

Yes Sir-E!

Put it this way, then: a broken driver will cost you more than a new hybrid...

I picked up the

Ogio Strait Jacket Travel Bag from Golf Gods and its really nice. It's priced well and withstood the rigors of Delta Airlines to and from North Carolina just a few short weeks ago. I'd advocate getting Club Glove's stiff arm to protect the clubs in the soft case. Another two cents for ya.

Hard is best (safest), but typically more expensive and won't fit in the back of your car as easily as a soft cover will...

I just picked up a Club Glove Burst Proof bag (with wheels) to replace my old (6 years) Ogio travel bag that finally died of a broken zipper. It did a great job protecting my clubs on my trip to Orlando and back. My only complaint is that it is a pretty snug fit, even for a smallish stand bag. I can't imagine a driver longer than 46" would fit into this bag.

Also, there's room for a couple pairs of shoes, but not much else. With my old, bigger Ogio bag I could jam all my dirty laundry in at the end of the trip (extra padding for clubs, lighter suitcase to lug). The Burst Proof doesn't have much room for laundry.

I wish I'd followed Jeff's lead and gotten the Straight Jacket. It's the size I wanted. But the Burst Proof will do a good job protecting my clubs, and that's what it's meant to do. The Burst Proof with wheels goes for about $150, though it's only $80-ish if you go for the wheel-free model.

in the bag today:
Driver: TaylorMade R9 10.5° (Fujikura Motore 65 stiff)
3-wood: Tour Edge Exotics XCG (Aldila DVS Fairway 75 stiff)
hybrid: Sonartec Md 21° (UST Proforce V2 Hybrid 85 stiff)

On the Golf Channel they had coverage of the PGA Merchandise Show and some company has telescoping collabsable hard bags. Really cool looking but of course there was no way to tell how sturdy they truly are. Great concept though.

edit - This was in response to iacas/Eric's message about hard cases not fitting in cars.

edit again - Ah! This is it I think:

FWIW, I meant hard cases not fitting in cars when they have clubs in them. They're usually larger than the soft cases and some trunks barely fit the soft ones.

I am looking to get a new travel bag. My last one is a travel cover.
On my last trip my driver showed up in two pieces.
What do you guys use/recomend ?

I know hard case is the ultimate but it would be hard to travel with two of these and get them into a rental car
I am leaning towards a Club Glove Burst proof with wheels and one of those extender sticks.
Any words of advice ?

taking a trip to Myrtle Beach, need a travel cover. I've invested a lot of money into my bag so I am looking for a very, very sturdy and reliable cover, money isn't really an issue. Ive been looking at the Club Gloves but am curious if I should get the smaller version of the travel cover. My bag is pretty small, I'm currently carrying a Sun Mountain Mini Bag.

Would the version that fits 10.5 inch bags just be to big? Or is the larger size useful since I could stuff the bag with a bunch of t shirts and crap to further protect the bag.

    • Yes, agree that there should be more TV coverage. I think the fact that they don't have the swing speed of their male counterparts makes it (slightly) more relatable, in that the rough is more of a penalty and the lack of distance means they are often pulling longer irons or lumber to get home on par fives. I think this season has been a bit tough on the LPGA to build much of a narrative with no one winning more than one tournament. And you could argue that they didn't really make hay with Nelly's run of wins, which should have been crowding out Caitlin Clark for female sports story of last year. One piece that they need to fix is the slow play - I would argue there is less player power compare to PGAT, so I don't understand why they aren't hitting the repeat offenders with stroke penalties. They have taken some strides in that respect this season, so let's hope Kessler continues the momentum.
    • Day 70 (10 Jul 25) - Weekly 9 hole round - changed up the clubs as I used the MaCGregor blades and Penna persimmons.  These clubs require focused contact - so it was a day of working on tempo and making consistent contact.  Overall it was a good session of working on these areas.
