I've been playing Ping G2's for about 5 years. Very forgiving, but every ball is HIGH. I have lost about 10-15 yards on every club. I have no problem getting the ball up in the air on my own.

I am considering TM R7 or Burner XD. Considering the recent price reduction on R7's, this looks like a good route.

Any feedback from TM users?

Both sets you are considering have reviews on them in the

I highly recommend the r7 XD irons. They go a reasonable ball flight, they are quite forgiving, but they also are workable. The titanium face on them feels so good at contact. These clubs feel better to me then any other irons that I have hit, and I have hit a lot of the new releases. You could probably find a good deal for them on ebay.

r7 is amazing.
I tested X-20, r7 and G10. Although I ended up getting G10 (just because it's relatively new and has AWT), I have to say r7 feels really great to hit (don't even mention TM lowers the prices for those).

I was considering Mizunos, Cleveland CG Reds, and the r7s. I went with the r7s and what a choice that was. The top three things about this club are: ball flight, consistency, and accuracy.

Ball flight is a nice mid to high launch, with a good amount of iron spin for workability. i really like the way the ball gets in the air, stays there, but doesnt ballon.

After playing with these irons for a dozen rounds, I now know that the irons will play in a short margin of error, and they will not deviate.

These irons are accurate. I aim at one place, and the distance and ball flight make sure that the ball lands where I want it.

The feeling after you hit a good ball with these irons is great too, feels amazing.

I play the r-7's - love em you cant go wrong. I think they feel better than the pings. my first set of irons were the eye 2's black dot and these r-7's are miles ahead of those. i demoed the g10's and also the clevelands and the r-7's won hands down.
