I believe ESPN at noon eastern is when the playoff starts, yes.

He also could have just as easily missed one of the 40+ foot putts he made yesterday and have made the putt for equal second. Also Rocco missed two putts he could have easily made to win by two. Tiger played amazing rescue golf after some bad shots, but Rocco would have won if he had those two putts again.

Yep, it starts at Noon Eastern. Which pisses me off because I get to work for the first four hours of the match, which may end up being the entire match. Oh well, I'll put my brother in charge of texting me throughout the match.

I just got a collect call from Mars;

It's funny you say this. After he made this putt, I was thinking that if they ever had intro music in golf, he would come out to that theme song from "Star Wars."

The guy is incredible. Leave Tiger with a bullet in the chamber and this is the chance you take. Rocco's response was great, "I told you he'd make it."

Tiger Woods quote, illustrates perfectly why simply lengthening courses is the wrong response in my opinion.




14, I couldn't have had a worse number. It was a 5-wood front number for me, but it was into the wind. I can't get a 5-wood there. Now I have to lean on a 5-wood, which means it brings the left bunker into play. I don't know if I can even get it all the way to that left bunker. If I bale right, I have absolutely no pitch. If I hit a cut 3-wood I have a choke down 3-wood and hit a cut. That's not exactly an easy shot. If I overcut I'm in the right bunker with virtually no shot. If that tee would have been on the back part of that tee, I could have hit a 3-wood with no problem. But it was on the front part, and it was perfectly caught between clubs. I said all right, no big deal. I can still make three by laying up. I laid up to a good number, had a little wedge and hit a little hard and ended up making par.

He's just so good. He never misses putts instead 10 feet for birdie, it's amazing.

      It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…

      I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
