Ok, Tried numerous sets today. My biggest thing is I want a set of irons that are really forgiving and help me get the ball up and straighter more consistently.
I tried the Sumos, nope.
I did however really like the Nike 4D, but they just felt sorta hard.
I was about to go home and and hit ebay for some used ones and then I tried the Ping G10's.
Back when I played more and was better (my best round was maybe 90) I had some Eye 2's copper and never really liked them for some reason.
So after getting a little used to the G10 today, I think I like it, though I was hitting the Nike 4D straighter, the Ping's hit felt soooo much better. The guys at the mass-chain golf store told me both sets would likely be about the same in forgiveness. One guy told me the Ping's would be more forgiving. Now I think the Nike;s actually would be. Who knows? Do any of you?

Now, I could go spend $700 smackers on a set of G10's, but the G5's can be had under $500 new now. I have not hit them. G10's easier, much better, etc?

For those of you who have hit any or all of these (5, 10, Nike 4d), which set is most forgiving. I could care less about working the ball, etc. I do like a nice feel, but care more about getting a half-way decent game going for once in my life. Again, I'm playing the cheap Maxfli Fire irons now and they play great for me, but feel like poo and seem to fall short in flight.

Thanks man, I really appreciate all of your help!

You ever try the Taylor Made RAC OS2? They helped me so much man when I was first starting. So light and easy to hit. They are rather cheap too. Great clubs, just got rid of mine today.

I am currently using a set of I5/G5 's and love them. My longer irons 5-4-3 are G5's and they're awesome. I tried the G10's and I10's and saw no real difference aside from the color. I tried out a lot of Irons and felt confident with the Ping's, plus the custom fitting is great. It has a lot of feel and just enough forgiveness!!

I just tried both...I think the 10's went a little straighter for me. Could easily be a mental thing as well.
So any thoughts on the Nike 4D's compared to the G10's per forgiveness?
I'll likely order up early next week.
