Has anyone played this course before? I got a good deal on a tee time and was wondering if the course is any good.

In the Bag:

I've played it a few times. The front nine is much easier then the back nine. The course is in pretty nice shape and overall its a fairly nice course. Have fun!

I played it once, and want to second this. I played the back-nine first, and hooooo boy was I in for a surprise. My home course, white tees, 6500 yards. So I played the blues there... hoo boy.

To the OP: You don't list a handicap, but unless you have the long ball, may I suggest the white tees first?

      Day 51 (yesterday was 50, not 59 -- that was a typo).  I didn't have a ton of time today.  I hit a dozen balls with a 6-iron in my practice room.   Amazingly, after this I did the ShotScope analysis of yesterday's round;  my approach play was at the 5 hcp level.  That's pretty darn good, but unfortunately for my score, some of that came from hitting a few good recovery shots.  But I also hit some really good approach shots that weren't from trouble!

      Shot a 37 today! Palmer Course, PGA National. Really fun. 6/9 GIR, no lost balls. The double and the bogey were both three putts from like 35 feet or so.  The birdie at the last was really fun. I stood over that fifteen footer and thought wow I’m really about to make this, aren’t I? And I hearted it. Really fun. It’s like 9000 degrees outside but I battled through it well. Good times.

      I had been in a bit of a slump for the month of June. Handicap index has slowly risen, and there were few sub-80 scores. Today was a different story at Leslie Park GC. Lots of solid shots, GIR's, up & downs, for a 77 (7.8 differential). As with most rounds, there were a few loose shots and crappy putts, but it was a good day.
