Practice swing was excellent. Well balanced, shaft on plane, good takeaway, etc.

Real swing however, you tried to hit the ball. You timing and acceleration were completely different. At least that is how it appeared. You club came back much more inside, which you then corrected on the downswing, and made a huge lurch at the ball.

Remember you have to swing through the ball, directing the momentum at the target and down the line. Until practice swing = actual swing, you will fight getting into a groove a few days, then totally out of it. When practice starts to meet actual, you start to get consistency, and the average ball flight quality improves.

This has been really hard for me as well, as I used to try to hit the ball really hard. Swinging through the ball though produces crisp contact = effortless distance.

Hope this helps.

If you hit a 5-iron 233 and you're a 20+ index, then I absolutely must get me a set of those AP1s.

You're taking the club to far back inside. Try to get good extension and "get loaded". Don't swing "at" the ball, but swing "through" the ball. It looks like you kinda slapped at the ball. Keep the head down and make a good swing through the ball and maintain your balance all the way through your swing.
