Yeah I saw that runned thing too lol

They're Club Championships for members at country clubs, so the only way to get in is to be a paying member at the club(at least mine). Find a country club or golf club that you like and can afford and try to become a member there.

On topic: My CC does match play with 4 flights A B C and D according to handicaps. There is one qualifying weekend for all flights except A flight plays from the tips and has a 36 hole qualifier in set pairings. Then it's top 16 in a bracket with match play. Again, the final A flight match plays 36 holes. There is another tournament that we have which is called the Governors Cup and it's the same thing but you play with strokes.

It doesn't have to be a private country club. All the public courses around here have men's and women's clubs that hold club championships as well as weekly tournaments. The dues vary but are usually between $50 and $100 per year. I pay $85 to my men's club and I'm playing in the final match of the "A" flight (9-15 handicap) club championship next Sunday for the 4th time in 5 years.

I did not know that, thanks for the correction.

Neither did I. Interesting information, and a solid alternative.

I threw my clubs into the lake so it's time to start over...

I play in the men's club at a local PUBLIC course. We have two championships, a 36-hole stroke play and a 64-player match play.

For the match play:

1. The field is split into quarters by handicap and then by random draw.

(if it is a handicapped competition, I don't see what difference it makes being a "#1 seed" ??)

2. Ours has no play-in qualification. Field is filled by the first 64 to sign up and pay.

3. There are two weeks for each round. It is up to the players to schedule and play their match before the deadline.

I'm not so sure how the seeding makes any difference, but I agree that a play-in qualification should be contested under the same conditions.
