So I finally got my last 5 rounds into scorecard with all the insane amout of stats they let you track, thanks to the HELP manual I totally understand everything so far... EXCEPT my handicap, which is one of the few things I thought I understood BEFORE i started using SC

Anyway my last 5 rounds are as follows:

Score Rating/Slope Over Par
102 70.3 /123 +30
106 69.4/117 +33 (this is a par 73)
100 68.1/111 +28
90 71.6/115 +18
87 71.6/115 +15

So of my last 5 my best yet is +15 and overall im averaging around +25,
SC however has me as a handicap of 14.5 and 33.9 anti

How do I have a handicap of 14.5 if my BEST round ever is +15? Is it just becasue it only counts the best ONE when you only enter 5 courses or is it because the handicap is figured on a 113 slope average even though my 87 was just barely on a higher slope rating?

Other than that everything is really easy to understand and I LOVE this thing, I have a sickness when it comes to going over stats, I am always pouring over them for no good reason, this is a dream come true lol.

Anyone have any ideas as to why my handicap is what it is, or if i am just totally lost as to how HC is figured?

Yep. 1 out of 5 and varying progressions until you get to 10 out of your last 20:

Yeah, like what the others' said, 1/5 and other different fractions until you reach 10/20...

So what is the difference between the slope and rating, I see it doesnt always mean that the higher the slope the higher the rating or vice versa.

The rating is the average "good score" for a scratch golfer.

The slope is the measure of a "good score" for a bogey golfer, relative to a scratch golfer. You can loosely look at it as: a scratch golfer ought to shoot the course rating on average. The slope rating is a measure of relative difficulty. Above 113 is more difficult than "average" and below 113 is easier than "average." Based on the formula, the use of 113 for slope is utterly arbitrary. Whatever the original meaning behind it, because it is applied as a ratio, it is purely a measure of incremental difficulty. You know that a slope of 130 is more difficult than a course with a slope of 120, but that a slope of 132 isn't terribly more difficult than the 130 (it's 2/113ths, or 1.7% more difficult.) You can apply this to courses relatively simply by comparing both variables separately. If a course's rating is 68, but its slope is 140, it is significantly more difficult for a bogey golfer than a scratch golfer (an example of this would have been something like the Torey Pines set-up for the US Open--scratch golfers were shooting 75-76, but a bogey golfer would have had significantly more difficulty, as evidenced on the Celebrity Challenge the week before.) A course with a low rating and a low slope is relatively easy for both scratch and bogey golfers.
