Psh, I've been told that countless times, but i cannot hit a 3 wood. I can hit my driver 10x better than i can a three wood. Plus at this high of a handicap its a perfect learning point. Sure score matters but i think its easier to tame the beast now rather than later!

I hear you there, no better time than to start learning then now. I am kind of in the same boat as you. I haven't quite tamed the driver yet. I used to always use 3-wood off the tee and got very consistent with it. Never got into trouble off the tee. Then about a month ago decided to go pick up a new driver. Ended up with the Adams A3 Boxer as it was the only one I hit well on the sim. Unfortunately, I have shot some of my worst scores of the year with it, getting into trouble off the tee a lot more often. However, it is a lot more fun to hit than the 3-wood. :)

What do you guys think of this

The guy has nice feedback and its a nice club, if you can get it for cheap keep on eye on it.

Remember though that the superquad retails for quite high so expect that price to go up quite a bit.

Check out here.

All used clubs, but they are much cheaper and they have a very accurate usage rating.

Look at the R7 425's on calloway preowned. All around 90 bucks and from what i know that is a solid club. A bit old, but still alot of people use it.

Hey guys I had the same issue about 4 months ago, here is what I can recomend.

Callaway FT-i
Cleveland Hi-Bore XL or XLS
Nike Sumo2 5900

All this 3 drivers will help you with accuracy, all of them will help you fixing your slice, and probably gain some yards.

My personal recomendation will be the Callaway FT-i in the version you need, either neutral or Draw to help with slice.

Hope this help you guys.

If i had the money for any of those they'd already be in my bag

However what do you think of the FT-5? I can get a good deal off of calloway preowned for those so they have crossed my mind.

i actually found that the cleveland hibore xl was easiest to hit for me.

the design is excellent, and gives me alot of confidence when im on the tee

i also had a cleveland launcher before this, and hit that straight most of the time too.

FT-5 I more focused to the middle to low handicap., but give it a try. Also you can also check Golfsmith, Edwin watts, and Callaway pre-owned. In golfsmith and Callaway they both have a large selection of pre-owned clubs. I think you can find one of the expensive ones at a good price here. Also the FT-i has just been price reduced yesterday at golfsmith check them out.

Go on ebay to a seller named "Timtheputterman". I ordered my driver from him for $159.99 (a LOT cheaper than in stores) and it is completely legit. I ordered quite a few clubs from him, and they have always arrived within 3 days, and the clubs are NOT COUNTERFEIT.

EDIT: Here's a link to all the 5300's he selling. The ones for 179 are Aldila vs Proto shafts, the ones for 169 are UST Proforce V2 shafts, and the ones for 159 are stock Diamana shafts. http://search.stores.ebay.com/The-Pu...394152QQsofpZ0

    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
