Anyone else here excited for the season to start?! Im super pumped, seeing my handicap has divided by 2. I know some of you might not be in HS, but youre connections still might be there. I know where I live, my parents are head Boosters, everyone is connected to golf. They send out e-mails, letters, and school wide news about golf. We have a terrible golf coach however, seeing that its July 18th, and we havent hit the course... once! BUT, Im still excited. Anyone else feel the same?

I played JV last year, and it personally made HS worth it! Not saying I dont like school, a 4.0 boosts the fun level, but golf was awesome! And having connections with the Senior golfers was a big +!

I wish i would have played, but i'm a senior so i have to play varsity. Luckily not many people here are good so i will get to play no matter what

. I played football before and skipped out senior year to play golf, it's gonna make school much more enjoyable.

Is your golf season in the fall? At my school its in the spring. I'll be playing on the high school team for the first time this year. I used to play varsity soccer, lacrose, and track but had to stop because of a bunch of injuries. I'm pretty pumped for the spring now.

I am trying out for high school's team for the first time. I think ill make it. I shot a 39 on the front nine at the course we try out at the other day.

I see youre very close to East Liverpool, and seeing that our number 1 shoots par, a 39 would work. Im very excited!

I, in my own opinion and experience, believe golf was a major part of my freshman year! It helped my develop so many social skills with other HSers, and taught me what to expect through HS. Work hard to get him to tryout... Best advice I can give.

And in all serious, mine is too. Well, its more of a coach thing than a team thing, but still a joke it is. Im pretty sure that if a JV golfer can beat the coach over 9 holes... Figure the rest out.

We played 1 round of golf all year for our golf team, and that was a tournament. That's all we did.

Ouch. Well, I guess I dont have it that bad! But my coach once cursed me out for trying to steal one of his McNuggets. Yeah... one McNugget.

haha my team is gonna be so good this year its not even funny. Even though i have gone from shooting low 90s to low 80s conistently over the next few months, i still wont start on our golf team. We have 6 kids who can shoot around par on any given day. Cant wait for senior year tho hhaha

I wish I could say the same! My school never finishes to high in any sport, so Id give up playing time for a win. But Im 3 man, and I shoot mid-high 80's. We arent too shabby.

cant wait. I wont be on varsity seeing as we only lost 1 senior and we have one of the best programs in northeast pennsylvania, second only to a big prep school in scranton.

      Day 91 (1  Aug 25) - Pre-tournament practice round today…had some great up and downs for par saves.  Rain came in this evening so it will be a totally different playing course tomorrow.

      Jesus, when he keeps saying scissoring moment, ugh that is a horrible sounding phrase. Just makes me cringe. It doesn't help my mind went to Mr. Garrison from South Park. 🤣 If you know you know.  I think for the most part, golf shaft companies have gotten this figured out. They ask questions like, what tempo do you swing at. The whole scissor terminology sounds like they want to stand out a bit.  Yea, golfers load the golf shaft differently, and different bend profiles can help out. I do think swing speed matters as well. You probably want a golf shaft with lower torque if you swing faster.

      Played 9 holes, shot a 39.  Kind of got around. Everything between the trees, so in play. Short game was rusty. Got to get back on that. Greens were stupidly slow because they got a lot of rain yesterday and probably couldn't cut them down. Usually in the summer they are firm and pretty fast for how sloped they are. Got to work on face to path a bit.
