That's true and it's really not so much of the person being a stranger, it's basically nervousness that I'll get paired with someone who is really good and they'll get stuck playing with me.

I really wouldn't worry about that at all, as long as you show respect for the game and have common etiquite they will be honored to play with you!

I don't hate playing with people who aren't good - I hate playing with people who aren't good, AND they have no common ettiquette. That's what I find at my home course, which has strayed me away from there lately. It sucsk getting paired up with some guys who don't stop talking on your backswing, never compliment your shots even when you compliment yours, and just do annoying things like walk in your line, etc. etc.

Time for you to get a membership somewhere else. Thats what I do, I play at a course for 2 or 3 years, get a membership somewhere else. Unless I really love the course. I've finished one membership, I have 3 more options. Heading to number 2 next year.

Man I'm in the opposite boat as you.

I have about 5 or 6 friends that golf(3 of them play almost everyday), my dad, grandpa, and 2 uncles golf almost everyday. AND I'm getting my girlfriend into golf.

And with all these people sometimes I don't have somebody to play with(i work everyday). Enjoy the time you have by yourself. Go to the range and try to fix something.

Playing a scramble is always fun. Now the fact that you cannot drive yet may be the major problem always having to go to the same course. I play at the same course about 4 times a week along with atleast 1 other thrown in the week. I don't mind playing the same course 4 times a week becuase its the hardest course around here(74.5 from the tips) and thats where my golf team practices and has tryouts.

Find a cheap course you like and get some friends to try golfing with you. You gotta stick it out, it'll be worth it in the end.

    • Day 33 (13 Dec 25) - Worked on weight shift and resetting the left heel during downswing (after listening to a discussion on Golf School this morning on PGA Tour Radio).  It centered on how Jack Nicklaus lifted his lead heel and how long driver champs do as well.  Taking cues from that discussion, worked an exaggerated feel of the left heel working doing some swing drill in the backyard using the 7i.  Wrapped up the session by hitting a few low bump and run shots in the backyard - keeping the process slow and exaggerated.
    • Day 123 12-13 Rotation and getting to lead side work. Recorded face on. Hit a few foam balls but did plenty of rehearsals today.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
