There has been quite a bit of buzz around the possibility of JD being on the 2006 Ryder Cup team. I even saw an interview with Tom Lehman where he was discussing this. I don't know, mind you JD has always been a favorite of mine but do you think he has the game to be on the team? It would be a good story though, and maybe it would put some fire in the American team. God knows they could use it.

I'd love to see him there, just don't put him in a Foursome match.

It didn't really sound like Tom Lehman wanted Daly on the team from what I gathered. He didn't jump for joy at the sound of Daly's name, I'll just say that.

If Daly ends up in the top-10 and qualifies that way, so be it. He will have earned his spot and will be very worthy of it.

If he isn't in the top-10, I wouldn't pick him as a captain's pick in a million years. There are so many other guys that are a lot more stable than John Daly that I would choose first.

I'm sure the fans would love it, but he wouldn't give the United States any better of a chance to win than Fred Couples or anyone else would.

It was a good interview with Tom Lehman though. I'm a fan of him, and I definitely think he was the right choice for the job. But I don't want him to play and be the captain. That's too much work. But that's for another day. :)

Last night the topic came up on Golf Central. They touched on a couple of good points that I completely agree with. First off, his game may be well suited for match play. Second, he could be one hell of a wild card as far as the fans go.

There are so many JD fans out there and we all know they are quite vocal. Imagine that on the European home turf! I also think that if JD were put in a team arena playing for the US, he would get quite fired up. I believe he is one player who would not take this for granted. He would look at this as definate highlight of his carrer and could give him a springboard to rededicate himself to the game. I'm all for it!

Besides, isn't that why there are captians picks?? To pick wild card players who otherwise wouldn't be on the team (top ten). IMO that's part of the sirit of the Ryder Cup!

Daly would certainly bring some excitment to the event thats for sure. Don't think he could get there in the motor home though.

I think it would probably do well for the tv ratings as well. Daly's game is a bit sporatic but when he is on he'd be hard to beat. I'd love to see it.

He'll have to come out of the gate really running. I thought he might have been a Captain's pick last time with Hal Sutton and him having so much in common -up and down careers and 8 wives between them... with the year he was having at the time he would have brought some fire to the mix. But, is he goes bad, he goes really bad. Maybe that's why he's skipped.

Bury me with a golf glove in my pocket - just in case!

There's a good article on this in the most recent GOLF magazine. I think it is a great idea and with he and Chris Dimarco the U.S. would have all the enthusiasm and cheerleading it needed.

I'm all for him playing. The fire he could spark is just what the U.S. team needs. He would be anything but boring and the ratings would skyrocket! Go JD.

To me its a easy decision. I would put him on the Ryder Cup.
He done well in the Dunhill Cups that he played in.

Imagine Daly in a better ball format with someone like Fred Funk or Furyk?
They hit the fairway alot. Let John hit the driver hard.

And like most everyone said he would not only be fun to watch in the format but a great cheerleader as well.

Hopefully he can just get into the top 10 and not have to worry about getting a captains pick that he will most likely not recieve.

Nothing against the guy as a good player and probably a good guy. But, I don't think he has a "Ryder Cup game" nor attitude.
