What combination of woods, hybrids, irons, and wedges do you carry, and why did you decide on them?
Mine: I carry driver, 3 wood, 2 hybrid, 3-9 irons, and 47*, 52*, and 58* wedges. I chose this because I have no distance gaps, I like the 2 hybrid out of the rough more then I would like a 5 wood, and I do a lot of chipping with my pw so I got it as an actual wedge so I'd have better control. I also can do a lot of my short game shots with the 58* so I don't need more wedges.

Very simular set up as yours.

My pitching wedge is 48, sand wedge is 54....and luck wedge is 58.

I typically grab my putter, pw & sw as my greenside assault kit when I'm heading over to a ball near a green.

The luck wedge and I aren't on good terms right now....thinking seriously of pulling it out of the bag and making room for something else....possibly another wood/hybrid

Mine is in my sig.

My setup works pretty well for me.

I'm not terribly partial to my rescue hybrid. I've yet to really figure out how to hit it. I thought about pulling it and replacing it with the TM Draw 7 wood. A local shop has a used one for $60, but I decided I needed to stick with the hybrid and figure it out. I just bought it a couple of months ago and can't justify giving up on a brand new club. I can hit it pretty good on uneven lies and lies in the rough, but in the fairway and off the tee (where I really need it) I more often than not snap hook it. Lately when I need 215yds off the tee I've been using my 5 wood and choking down on the grip.

I'm pretty happy with three wedges. I grew up only playing with two (PW & SW) so the idea of having four in the bag seems a bit odd. My irons are "distance" irons which means that the lofts on them are less than normal. So the gap wedge is necessary. For everything 110yds in I just go with my SW. That's what I've always done so it still works for me.

I have a 8.5*, 13* 3-wood, 3-9, PW, 52, 56, 60. I love the wedges and bent my 3 a little strong. I hit the 3-wood 265 and the 3 iron 235, and I've never needed something in between (if I'm that far away I don't worry that much). So the extra wedge is worth it.

Driver, 3-wood, 3-9 irons, PW, 56* wedge, 60* wedge and putter. Im looking to add a 52* wedge to the bag in the near future.
I carry a full set of irons because Ive gotten to be pretty good with my irons and because of that, I feel much more in control with an iron than I do with a 5-wood or a hybrid.
I like to carry 3 wedges because it gives me more versatility in the kind of shots I can pull off around the green. Depending upon the distance and whether I want to hit a low or high shot, I can either play the ball foreward in my stance and back in my stance and have more control over the trajectory and the amount of spin.
I feel that more wedges is more important than more fairway woods, hybrids or long irons.

I love this set up. All players should add hybrids to there bag, IMO. They have made a hugh difference in my long game.

I think that I'm going to order a 48* wedge to see if I can add a little more versatility to my short game. Do you think that my wife will mind......?

You can check my sig, then start making fun of me for having 5 wedges.

By having a 17* strong 5 wood instead of a 15*/19* 3/5 wood setup I have better bag coverage. I don't have a gap larger than 15 yards until I get to my 4hybrid - 5 wood gap of 20 yards. I can cover 60 to 210 yards with a full swing. The longer shafted 4 hybrid really takes the place of the 3 and 4 iron. At the end of 18 holes I never find myself having needed another club I wasn't carrying. And when it comes time to clean the clubs, I usually have to clean them all.

I carry the following:

Driver 11.5 degrees (I have lost some confidence right now so I am using the 3 wood for most of the tee shots). 3 Wood (Predominantly off of the tee and only when I am in the fairway and I am feeling confident that I can get as close to the green as possible - I really cannot get to the green in 2 on a Par 5) 5 Wood (fairway) 3 and 4 hybrid (fairway and rough, fairway bunker if I can clear the lip) 5-PW SW (I use this for approach shots from 90 yards and in to about 60 yards; Pitching, pitch shots from tight lies) LW (I use this for the flop shot, especially on a fluffy lie) I am more confident using an iron or hybrid from the rough.
