Inconsistent in Same Round?!

Recently, after getting to where I was shooting low 90s every round, I feel like I have regressed, but it is only happening on the front 9. My last few times out my front nines have been mostly 6s and 7s with a few 5s maybe. Then I tear it up on the back nine (for me, not for low handicapper! ). Last nite I shot a 55 on the front nine, and ended up with a 44 on the back. Anyone else have anything similiar?

I am thinking it might be happening because I am trying to hard, tensing up, and trying to kill the ball a little bit on the front. Then I slow everything down on the back. All I know right now is it is killing me!

Yeah man, just let the game come to you...I mean, I'm not sure why you are tensing up. It seems kind of silly. Is it a tournament? For money? Honestly, who cares if you play bad if you're just out for fun - might as well stay loose and just enjoy yourself. You'll play better that way.

go to the course earlier and hit a bucket of balls. then, go to the practice greens and get used to the green. get loose, do some stretching, and you'll get into a better mindset for your round. i get a bad front nine and i say to myself "well, so much for a good score" and i then seem to relax and do much better on the back. i've found that golf is as much mental as it is physical, and preparing for the physical aspect of it tends to prepare my mind for it too.

there's also Dr. Bob on the Golf Channel i guess...haha!(what's the deal with his hair?)

Every round for me. Its a running joke now that I will never shoot the same score on the front and back nine. If I stink up the front, look out! I'm coming for ya on the back!

Had this happen to me a couple weeks ago I shot a 60 on the front and a 43 on the back its a hard course and it was the first time Ive ever play a course twice (Ive started in Dec and have played only 6 times) I was so excited I kept the scorecard

Now the guy I was playing with was doing great hitting his drive so well he couldnt belive it got a 50 on the front but fell apart on the back got a 64 his excuse was he duffed it cause he felt bad for telling me how bad he was lol
