what a joke the media is. they should be glorified annika yet more attention is paid to wie.

That's because we all know it's not her last major.

It's her own fault for calling out Wie in the way she did. All that did was give Wie more attention.

Wie is not the story over here in England - Annika was till the golf got going and now the tournament is. Why is the American media so obsessed with celebrity that it can't keep its eye on the REAL ball? And I'm right with Annika, Sophie and the others on this. If Wie wants to make a career in golf, she should be trying to forge it on the LPGA Tour (nod to iacas - I am now aware), not carrying out the latest in her series of pointless stunts.

That is true of SOME of the media. In our local paper, the stories about Juli and the Women's British Open is #1 (after all, it is a Major and Annika's last one). Fred Funk and the US Senior Open is #2 (again, it is a Major for the Old Guys). Retief Goosen and the WGC is #3. The Nationwide Tour is #4. And last, is Michelle Wie and the Reno tournament. That newspaper has their priorities right, in my opinion.

As far as this weekend is concerned, they are both part of the past. Annika is 10 shots back, and Michelle will spend the weekend home instead of playing the last two rounds in Reno. Meantime, Juli continues to be the BIG STORY, and if Natalie can win, SHE will definitely be the BIG STORY ( she is only 3 shots back right now).

Michelle Wie has a lot of growing up to do before we can refer to her as, "the future".

Shes got every shot in the bag, but she still lacks the mental game.

Wie needs to work on her mentality then get back to golf. She has all the talent in the world she just freaks herself out methinks.

I love to hate this damn game.

Exactly. She is still immature and its almost like she feels a sense of entitlement.

Say what? It's because the media is more interested in a freak show in this case. Wie has a long way to go to be a part of any future in professional golf.

    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
