Hi all,

Recently been trying out hybrids to bridge the gap between my 3 iron and 3 wood. Today I tried out the 21 deg each of Ping G10, TM Burner, Cobra Baffler DWS and the Titleist 585H. Of all of them, I found hitting the Titleist the nicest. Shots had a nice trajectory and stopped fairly quickly. However everywhere I look I keep getting told that it is a 'players club' and that I won't be able to hit it consistently.

I really want a club that will grow with me and that as I improve I will be able to hit better. Will this suit me?

Cheers,
James

Well, first off - if you hit it consistently, it performed the best, and you liked it - who cares what everyone else says? Yes, most Titleist equipment is geared towards the better ballstriker - it doesn't have the highest MOI, they don't have as much offset, etc, etc....but who says that the way this club sets up, with your swing, with your abilities, it isn't a perfect combination for YOU? Looks like this club passed your test - you hit them all - just go with whatever one you hit the best and don't look back!

I'm a high hdcp and love the 585. I have hyrbids from Mizuno, Titleist, Nickent, and Callaway. I like them all, but if I could pull out a matched set it would be the 585h.
Just get it!

I have the 585h in the 21 deg. I'm not a "player" but it is the best hybrid I've ever played/tried. You're right though..there not much roll..stops quickly. I like it because there's no crazy ping, zing, cling sound..just a nice thud.

May also want to look at the Cobra Baffler Pro; I found I hit the Pro really well, nice high flight, good workability, and runs pretty well through the first cut and rough. Plus the Pro can be had for much cheaper than the Titleist.
