I agree with Bump-n..

it should be standard etiquette .. accidentally is one thing. If I ever do, I turn around and say sorry I didn't see the line, and try to tap out any spike marks or indentations I left behind (you can do that, but the player putting the putt can't - i believe this is the rule).

But guys who just walk up and don't know the etiquette .. it irks me ... if it happens on a hole or two ok .. but every other hole the guy is walking up, marking their ball, stepping with two feet on my line.. etc.. i get annoyed.
