  1. Why are golf shoes mostly worn? To stabilize the swing, or provide traction when walking across a damp, hilly course?
  2. How important is it that I get golf shoes? Right now I just wear tennis shoes.
  3. Can you wear modern golf shoes (ones with soft cleats) off the course?
  4. Can I just wear hiking or trail shoes with a lugged sole?

I wear golf shoes because they are extremely comfortable. When you're walking 9, 18, or even riding, you want your feet to feel good. If you've ever walked around in uncomfortable shoes, you're not gonna be a happy camper.

  1. why are golf shoes mostly worn? To stabilize the swing, or provide traction when walking across a damp, hilly course? to create a more stable platform. Upper body coils around a stable base equals a more consistent and powerful swing
  2. how important is it that i get golf shoes? Right now i just wear tennis shoes. i suggest golf shoes...cheap enough when you compare it to ther equipment. Find a pair on clearance...for about $50-$75
  3. can you wear modern golf shoes (ones with soft cleats) off the course? you could wear it...but why wear out your soft spikes
  4. can i just wear hiking or trail shoes with a lugged sole? i wouldn't think it would flex correctly. There is a lot of torque happening in that shoe as you release your swing.
