Dave has just written an article on his bag's value (and, oddly enough, didn't actually figure out the value of his bag ). What's your bag's value (and that of the stuff inside it), market and personal?

I'll answer the question myself in a bit.

I look at "Personal Value" as what it would take me to replace them. I'm not terribly sentimental about my clubs. The 962Bs I had for a decade I've loaned to my brother in law, after all. But I do stick with what works...

Woods/Hybrids:
Titleist 905S - Paid: $0, Market Value: $150, Personal Value: $300
Titleist 904F - Paid: $0, Market: $120, Personal: $250
TM Rescue Dual - Paid: $0, Market: $150, Personal: $200

Irons/Wedges:
Titleist 735.CM - Paid: $0, Market: $650, Personal: $900
Spin-Milled Vokeys (2) - Paid: $120, Market: $120, Personal: $180

Putter:
Titleist/Cameron Red X - Paid: $200, Market: $100, Personal: $300

Bag:
Titleist CBS (Japan) stand bag: Paid: $0, Market: $300, Personal: $500

My totals:
Paid: $320
Market: $1590
Personal: $2630

Quite a bit more than Dave's (though the "Paid" column isn't), but that's largely because he's using such old (I didn't say "inferior"!!!) equipment. Time for that boy to get a new 3-wood!

I'm not that attached to my clubs that I need a personal value just a replacement value, which includes the retail price and any shaft or grip upgrades. I'm a pretty good shopper so I would never pay retail for a club.

Woods/Hybrids:
Callaway FT-3 Driver - Paid $75, Replacement $500
TaylorMade R7 TP Driver - Paid $200, Retail $600
TaylorMade R7 TP 3 wood - Paid $100, Retail $400

Irons/Wedges:
Mizuno MP 30-32 mixed set - Paid $400, Replacement $950
Mizuno MPT Raw - Paid $75, Replacement $375

Putter:
Mizuno/Cameron M100 - Paid $200, Replacement $250
Then there are the rest of my putters, I won't even go there.

Bag:
Mizuno Staff Bag - Paid $200, Replacement $400
Ogio Vaporlite - Paid $50, Replacement $100

My totals:
Paid: $1300
Replacement $ 3575
Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Woods
Nike NDS 13* Driver - Paid $150. Hit about every 10th shot great, so value is about $15. $20 with the head cover.
TaylorMade V-Steel 3-Wood and 5-Wood. Paid $110 each or $220 for both. They both go the same distance, and that is probably about 80% of what they should, so value = $88

Hybrids
3 Nike CPR's (22*, 26*, 30*). $110 each, or $330 for all. I hit 2/3 of them pretty well, so lets call the value $220.

Irons I still have the Irons from my starter set ($200) although I only use the 6 - PW. All of which are all right. Lets call this one $100

Wedges SW from the starter set, GW from Innovex ($40), Lob from Wilson ($40). I hit these twice as well as I should on the range, and 1/2 as well in play. So its a wash, $80.

Putter
Never compromise that cost $50. After the first putt its worth about $0. The 2nd gets it pretty close, so lets call that $25. The 3rd putt brings that back down to $10. But BINGO! The 4th putt is golden. $50. I don't think there is a better putter on the market for hitting your 4th.

Bag
Ogio Vision, 90$ for a stand bag when I have yet to walk a course. Still, it looks good on the range so $90 it is.

Paid price: $1120.
Play price: $648.

If my wife sees this she will make me give up the game.

I don't think any of my clubs have sentimental value. They only really have replacement value in the case of the unthinkable.

Driver
I'd definitely get myself a new SMT driver. Either another Spectrum or a Deep Bore. Maybe $300 to replace with shaft suitable for a mug like me.

Fairway woods
No alleigance to the current 3W which is a V-Steel copy with a TX-90 shaft in it. I'd probably seek similar characteristics which are a dime a dozen. I'm awaiting the arrival of a second hand Adams Idea #2 hybrid. $200 to replace the pair.

Irons
I'd demo'ed a lot of different irons before choosing the NDS but, again, I have no loyalty to them. Any cavity back with the right shaft feel would do it for me. I'd budget myself $800 to replace them but would be trying to get closer to $500.

Wedges
An Aussie golf forum I'm a member of has a fairly active Ho group and I've been able to pick up a Nike forged 53* and SM Vokey 58*. As a convert to the idea that scoring happens in the last 100m I would definitely be prepared to spend a bit extra on these and would go up $150 each.

Putter
This might be the point where I am a bit sentimental about a club. The CS Rossa Monza has seen me go from a disastrous putter to something approaching adequate. I'd like to think it might be able to see me become good. $150 to replace via the auction sites.

So it looks like ~$1500 to replace. I hadn't expected it to be so high.

(Prices are in Australian $ based on the Australian market)

    • Impressive! I practice these shots along with my putting on most days. Would love to see where my spin numbers are! On the course this method has dramatically changed the way I think about chipping.

    • Last couple sessions I’ve felt good. I’ve managed to PB on almost every different weight I’ve used except the 195g which most will know is the weight used to identify driver eSpeed. i have noticed a very slight increase however in my 195g ‘Full Swing’ whereas my ‘Max Swing’ has been stuck at 102mph last few sessions. I do feel like I have quicker in me. My target at the start would have been to get to 105mph giving an eSpeed of 115mph. With around 50% or so of the foundations programme left I think this is definitely achievable
