What is the best and most efficient way to clean up golf grips? I have golf pride tour velvets and they are starting to feel slippery with less control. I regripped them last winter and will probably regrip them again during the offseason.

Soap and warm water. Lots of suds. Rub the suds into the grips and rinse. Use a soft towel to dry. Condensed version, but that's basically it.

This is entirely my opinion. Others may have a way they like to clean their grips that is good for them. This is just how I have always done it.

This is what I do except I get the warm soapy water on an old toothbrush and scrub the grip with that. Then I just take the towel and dry.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

Yup....it leaves some of the soap on there that brings out the tackiness of this wonderful grip.

Tour Velvets are super...but they have to be replaced periodically....at least every season....imho. If you want a little more life (and $$$$) then go with the Tour Velvet Cords....an outstanding grip that will last you through a couple of seasons. Super grip in damp weather.

Which cord grips are the best? I know Golfsmith sells quite a few of those grips. Which one is the most durable in all conditions and has a solid lifespan?

This may be a dumb question but what are suds? Are they the bubbles that the soap makes?

Yes. Soap suds. Maybe it's a regional term, it's what we always called themin the midwest. Or at least my part of it!

"Golfer's Lift Off" does a great job on the rubber grips, not cord or Winn. Spray on grip, let it sit for a couple of seconds and twist dry with a towel.
An outfit in Illinois, Charter Products distributes it. Call them for someone near you who may sell it - about $7 for an 18 ounc can. 630-616-1922.

Be sure to wash and dry your club upside down, so the water doesn't go down into that little hole at the bottom of your club...

    • Day 29 (9 Dec 25) - PW dink and rolls as well as low flighted chips.  Dink and rolls - set up with club head toe down/heel up to promote low flight, plenty of roll out.  Low flighted pitches - club flat on the ground to get ball up a Rick more and check more.   No more than 10yds total distance - focus on getting the ball to finish near (within 10’ dia circle) the target “pin”…

    • Only ever used ShipSticks and never had a problem. It's really nice because you can ship to anywhere not just courses.  No matter what you use, I take the extra care of the clubs and wrap them in something before putting them in your bag and into the shipping box.

If I leave any short or they go to far and fall off the rug, I restart.  Focusing on speed and hitting my mark 3 inches in front of me. Trying to gain consistency and discipline in all aspects of my putting game.
