Hey everyone,

Looking for some suggestions on blade putters. To give you an example of what I'm looking for, I'd really love a Scotty Cameron Newport 2. Now, if I had a money tree I'd already have one and wouldn't be posting here. So, what I'm looking for is possible alternatives. Knowing me, I'll probably be looking for either new or mint used equipment on eBay or here. I still might get a Scotty, but I'd like to consider some others as well. (PM me if you want to sell me a nice Scotty for a good price )

Another putter I liked the feel of is the Yes! Callie. I know there are a ton of putters out here in the same style so let me know which ones I should put on my short list. If I could get something for around $100 I'd be pretty happy. I know I'd be more in the $150-200 range for a Scotty.

On a side note, I tried a 2-ball SRT putter for a round this year and did not like it. Sure it was easy to keep the putter online, but all of the feel was gone. Blade for life!

Thanks!

Looking into the ping karsten series. They are 100 bucks and are a great putter. Also, try the taylormade rossa putters. They get great roll of the face and good feel.

Yeah...In the end I likely will. I'm not poor by any means...I'm just really cheap lol

. I'll probably keep my eyes on eBay and the forums and grab that Newport 2 I've been dreaming of for years . If I were to buy something on eBay, would I be pretty safe if it was purchased from an eBay golf store...you know, the ones that have like 20000+ transactions? I've heard there are quite a few fakes out there so I want to make sure I buy legit. Is there a serial number on them that you can have cross checked by SC? Or some similar way for a seller to prove the club is legit?

Have you looked at Fisher? I got one from a friend and I absolutely love it. It's an insert, not a milled, but I like the feeling better than the Scotty Cameron /Bob Bettinardi named putters. I'm in the minority on this opinion, but they're worth a try.

I have the YES! Callie, love it. They make a nice blade putter, that's new this season: Nikki. Looks great, bit of a retro look. The Scotty's are a great putter. They are pricey, alot of guys I know took the YES! over the Scotty, simply because it feels just as nice in your hands, and is half the price.

I went from a 35" Anser 2 (1992-2004) to a 34" Tracy (2004 to 2008) to a 33" Studio Style Newport 2 (2008).

My putting improved greatly when I switched to the Tracy, but I seemed to get everything very near the hole, but not in . I switched to the about three weeks ago. For me, this putter sets up beautifully and I am able to swing it so smoothly. since I got used to the slight adjustment to the 33" - which now feels perfectly natural - I have been making a good amount of sizable putts.

As soon as I read the title of this thread, the Yes! line of putters came into mind. I was in the very same situation as Scott. I ended up choosing the Yes! Sophia, which is a beauty w/ wonderful feel. The same can be said for Yes! Callie, Yes! Nicky, and others. You can't go wrong with these putters, and if you shop around you can find a great deal. My Sophia was found new, on Ebay, for $70.

Nice price. Did you get it from an individual or find a good eBay golf store that had some deals? For $70 I'd pick up a Yes! Callie in a heartbeat :).

Here's what I did... I went to a couple different local courses/pro shops/golf stores to try the putters after looking and reading reviews/articles., I then decided what I was looking for, and narrowed it down to a few putters (very similar search to yours). That's when I started looking on ebay. I was very patient, and just watched for about a month, as I tried to get the best deal. I was looking at reputable ebay golf stores, and guys with very good transaction history/feedback. I was fortunate that the one I picked was at a weird time (midnight EST), on a weird day (Tues), so the usual run of late minute bids didn't happen. Final price was actually $67 + s&H.;

I'm not saying you HAVE to go through ebay, BUT, I did find the best prices pretty regularly, and if you're patient you may find a steal. Good luck! That Callie is a wonderful putter, if that's what you choose. I really am a big fan of Yes! putters in general, and I'm sure you will be too.

Like the other guys suggested....try to find a Yes putter on Ebay. Those are some of the sweetest putters I've ever tried.

I wonder what price level the new Ping iWi series will sell at? The owner adjustable weight system is pretty neat...lots of versatility that you can adjust on the course if you'd like....say you get their and the greens are way slower or faster than your "normal". Kinda cool.

I can understand your love of the Newport SC, too. Of that series I really like the mid-slant. I'm looking forward to the new models that will be available at all the dealers in about two weeks.

Yeah, that will basically be my plan. With the season winding down here I basically have the next 7 months to watch eBay lol. I've bought several clubs on eBay already and the prices there are definitely way cheaper in general. I did a search the other day for Yes! putters and surprisingly didn't see much on there...thought that was a bit strange. Anyway...I'll start watching now and see if I can snag myself a deal. Also, once I can finally post in the trading forum here I'll throw up a thread as well. Thanks everyone for your comments.
