So after beings basically the same thing for the past 11 months, I am now finally below a 1 handicap. It is offically a .9. No other reason for this post other than a pat on my own back.

Its funny, I got to a 3 over 2 years ago, but just could not get over that hump. I believe switching to the Odyssey putter from the Scotty worked wonders for me on long putts. As well as switching to the Ping G10 from the Cobra I had been using. More distance! But I am a club ho, so what do I know.

What is your lowest round?

Lowest round was 67 Most work I did was really work on the little things. Putting stroke and short game. Right now I am working mostly on my tee shot. Trying to get a a little more yardage through weight shift. Like I said before though, changing putters was the biggest thing for me.

How often do you work on your game?

Percentage on short game? is that chipping around the green? pitch shots within 50 yards? How many round per week? how has the new putter helped you? Thanks

I play 3 times a week. Work on chipping and putting 30 min before each round.

I also go to the range once a week and work on wedges and driver only. The new putter has changed my game. Confidence is a big part of it Im sure, but now lag putts are always great, and anything inside of 10 ft I feel like is going on. Everything inside of 5 ft seems to always go in.

Any iron work in there?

I know what I have to do to get to a scratch, and it is to build a repeatable swing. As of now, I have no clue where the ball will go. I am reading Hogans Fundamentals, and it really helps me to more fully understand how the golf swing works, and why one move makes me do something else later in the swing. So when I am on the range and the ball isnt going straight, but I don't knwo why, I can figure it out by knowing what causes the ball right, like an improper takeaway, or my right elbow being too far out from my body and the top of the back swing. It all takes time, and busting your butt off for hours,.

You dont know where the ball is going, and your an 8? Must putt the lights out. I rarely hit irons on the range. My swing is pretty grooved at this point, and my errant shots are usually off the tee when I screw up.

By not knowing wher the ball is going, I mean no consistency with the driver, and 9 irons missing the green by ten yards. and my short game has been in hyperdrive the past few weeks.

I totally understand that. Good luck. Once I focused my practice to my short game, it changed everything.

Thanks. Good luck.

Sounds pretty boring to me.

I mean, don't you ever get tired of hitting your second shot off the fairway? Where's the challenge if you're not hitting from a bunker 3-4 times a round? And bending over to fix your own ball marks on the green has got to suck. When was the last time you had a nice wet foot from hitting from a shallow water hazard?

Gack.. And to think you probably want to get lower too...
