Leaf on Puttig line

Well, I know that you are not allowed to touch your line between ur ball and the hole, but what do u do if there is like huge leaf right on the line? Do u move the leaf or do you have to leave it there? Now I know this doesn't happen very often but I just wanted to see what the real rule about it was.

I always moved it, but then i again ive never played in any tournament where it my of been illegal.

16-1. General a. Touching Line of Putt

The line of putt must not be touched except:

(i) the player may remove loose impediments, provided he does not press anything down;
(ii) the player may place the club in front of the ball when addressing it, provided he does not press anything down;
(iii) in measuring - Rule 18-6;
(iv) in lifting or replacing the ball - Rule 16-1b;
(v) in pressing down a ball-marker;
(vi) in repairing old hole plugs or ball marks on the putting green - Rule 16-1c; and
(vii) in removing movable obstructions - Rule 24-1.

you should try playing at one of the local courses here in Bath (Engand)...leaves all over the green.

We always move em, although again...not been in competitions. However, i do remember hearing that you are allowed to move leaves.....you could always blow them of your line if you are worried, as you wouldnt have technically touched it!

It's a loose impediment. This is one of the most basic rules of golf. I'd advise you to read the USGA Rules of Golf (website or book), Rule 23.

Under the new amendments, you can even use your towel to "flap" away a bunch of small leaves (or other loose impediments)

Could you imagine not being able to move leaves when they are all falling from the trees? Not just on the green, but in the rough, on the fairways, you could never identify your ball! Let alone see it to hit it sometimnes.

Regarding your other thread. I see the problem here. The title of the thread is misspelled. But that was obviously a typo. Just take a second to proofread. Better yet, install the Google toolbar. It puts a red line under misspelled words. Saves my butt all the time. But the above text contains some txt-msg speak. While a lot of people text all the time and are used to it, most people aren't. That makes it hard to read. Yours isn't too bad, but "ur" and "u" are still annoying for people not used to texting. Using them is like waiving a flag that says "I'm a teenager!" and some people automatically discount what teenagers say, even if it's true or worthwhile. Better to simply avoid that prejudice if you can. Take a look at Dent's posts. If someone hadn't mentioned it, I never would have guessed that guy is only 16. And because of the way he posts, people take him seriously. I think if you take the extra millisecond to do things like type the extra "yo", you will get much better responses to your posts. There's a story that in a Paul Newman Classic (think that's what it was), someone's ball rolled into a fast food bag someone had dropped on the course as litter. He pulled out his lighter and ignited the bag. I don't know if it's real, they fed it to us in one of my leadership/problem-solving courses. So who knows. I've been told it really happened though.

Okay, you are in the clear then. The fire at Clubhouse at University of Texas Golf Club happened last December. (Also, I think it was caused by an electrical problem, but that is a vague recollection and I couldn't find anything with Google, so if someone knows for sure, please post.)

Nope, no one physically injured. But the brand new, almost finished, $8 million clubhouse burned to the ground.

Especially for the members who bought in expecting the new clubhouse to open.

I think the biggest disappointment was that the U.T. Golf Club hosted the NCAA Women's Regionals and the Texas Women's team advanced to regionals. It would have been a great opportunity to show off the facilities. (Although, the team facilities are separate, completed, and were not damaged. They are amazing. I will see if I can find some photos.)
