Crooked Creek, in London KY . . . one of the most gorgeous courses in Kentucky.

Mine is probably Trophy Lake in Bremerton, WA. It is a really well maintained course, and public. Perfect for both people who have some skill, but still shoot pretty high (me) and solid players.

Also, World Woods, Pine Barrens Course, awesome. ($35 after 3pm in the summer)

I have pledged to never pay more than $60 for a round, so I am limited.

Mine has got to be Mystic Rock at Nemacolin Woodlands. www.nemacolin.com/MYSTICROCK . I usually only end up playing there once or twice a year with my company's season pass. I normally dont score that well since its a little above my skill level but I always look forward to playing it.

The Lower Course at Baltusrol used to be my favorite but I think my new favorite is Shackamaxon CC now. Tillinghast made both courses about the same time and they are very similar. Both are always in immaculate condition. I just like some of the things he put in Shack like a drivable par 4 (this was in 1916, before it became so popular) and a true island green on a par 4. Hell, I liked it so much I joined the club.

Mine would have to be Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth, RI. Beautiful, beautiful course. Amazing views. Right on the Narragansett Bay. That and Whitinsville Country Club in Northbridge, MA.

This is a really hard one to answer. I've played 500 courses and can't say that I have a single favorite. I've played a bunch of the ones that other posters have suggested... Bethpage Black, Bethapge Red, The Dunes, Heritage, World Woods & Harding park... All of those are good but wouldn't be my favorite.

My favorites in Scotland: Turnberry Ailsa (host of the '09 British Open Championship) and Wetern Gailes (the most under-rated course I've played in Scotland IMO)

My favorite in England: Sunningdale (Old)

My favorite Public in NY: #1 The Sagamore , #2 BP Black (host of the '09 US Open)

Favorite Private in NY: Sleepy Hollow or Wykagyl

Favorite Private Elsewhere: Olympic Club (SF), The Country Club (Brookline, MA)

Favorite in Carolinas: #1 Caledonia (SC), #2, The Dunes Club (SC), # 3 Rivers Edge (NC)

Favorite FL: Bay Hill

VA: #1 Golden Horseshoe (Gold) (Golden Horseshoe Gold may be my favorite anywhere) #2 Royal New Kent

AL: RTJ Trail Cambrian Ridge (Sherling/Canyon) (There are a lot of good courses on the RTJ Trail, but I really love Cambrian Ridge.)

Norcal Public: Pasatiempo

SoCal Public: Angeles National

MI: Moose Ridge or Sheperds Hollow. Some day I hope some of the great courses in Northern MI

IL: Cog Hill #4 (Dubsdread)

WI: Whistling Straits (Straits)

AZ: We-Ko-PA Saguaro, Boulders, Troon North (Monument) or Dinosaur Mtn. So much great golf in AZ.

NV: Wolf Creek

I've played in a dozen other States, but my favorites in those States don't match the ones above.

Well I grew up in MN and learned the game there so my favorite course is still probably Mississippi National in Redwing. Now that I am in Tucson my favorite course is the Omni Tucson National but I doubt I will see it again until we reach 100+ again next summer and the prices drop.

I haven't played a lot of courses outside of my home state of Mississippi so I will have to pick one from here. Old Wavery CC has to be my favorite. The biggest tournament held there was the 1999 Womens U.S. Open.

    • Day 21 - Good session with driver and 6i. Hitting real golf balls is quite a bit different from the foam balls, still getting used to that change.
    • There are so many videos comparing and contrasting everything that I am both overwhelmed and more than a bit skeptical. Your comments above are much more valuable than hours of you-tube videos. Generally speaking, I’d much prefer to read something that someone took the time and trouble to write (such as your comments) than a bunch of videos, or worse, meaningless reviews that seem like they are all cut and paste selections of the same script. I’m more of a RTFM type than a watcher of “instructional” videos. By way of explanation, I don’t watch TV either.  So thanks - I’ll take that under advisement. I have an H3 that I bought for $10 that I’ve been carrying around but not sure why. Seems like a cool club, but I just don’t really know what to do with it.
    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.
    • Day 4: 3/26/25 Par4Success workout followed by putting through 50 mm gates.
    • Day 249: did a stack putting session and then worked on 5 foot putts for a bit.
