Has anyone tried custom made clubs using frequency matched shafts. If so what were your results with them. I had some of these made up, but cannot seem to hit them consistently and went back to my old Daiwa's.

I haven't. Can you provide some more details? Some others may be able to help you.

The heads are made by Infinit and shafts made by Apache. The measurement on each shaft fit a certain profile. i.e. stiff fell into 300-315cfm and the ones I received were in the range of 320-325cfm which was supposedly equal to a ladies stiff shaft. Each shaft is suppose to give you the same feel for each club with very little variance. I'm probably not explaining this too good, but am no engineer. Anyway, I do not hit them any better and some worse.

I probably won't be able to help you much but some other questions might help the crowd dial in your problem... What is your swing speed with a five-iron and driver? What shaft flex is your previous set? Where are your misses going (left, right, high, low)?

Are your new irons blades or cavity backs?

My swing speed with a 5 iron is about 80-85 and with a driver about 90-95 using a r=flex shaft. I generally pull the ball left with some of the irons and push right with the others. I just feel the shafts are no more different than the ones I use to hit??? Confused as usual. That's the problem with golf clubs, no two seem to be alike?? Cavity backed Infiniti irons. I believe if the person that made these for me hadn/t been transferred he could have helped me by observing which way I hit these irons and tipped them to my swing??

Golf is such a screwed up game and the people that make clubs screw me up even more. Alas, same time tomorrow?

I wonder if your shafts are too whippy. The new shafts might be softer than the first set you had. You might need a men's regular flex as opposed to the women's stiff. It could be as simple as that. You may have to disregard this shaft-fitters opinion in this regard.

I've got two fairway woods that are completely "take them out of the bag useless" because the regular-flex shafts don't match my swing. I think its important to think not only of swing speed but of tempo and release when choosing shaft flex. If you have a quick tempo but slowish swing speed, for example, the quick tempo might be over flexing the shafts even at slower swing speeds. I've recently replaced shafts in my irons and driver and they are extremely accurate compared to the regular shafts I was using before. I was all over the place with the old shafts and my game really suffered as a result. I've since gone to stiff flex and am really starting to progress because I'm not fighting whippy shafts. Anyway, consider the fact that you need stiffer shafts. You're tempo, transition, and/or swing speed may be dictating you need something different. IMHO your shafts might be way too whippy for the swing you have. Just a few thoughts and good luck! Man I'm a wind-bag. UPDATE: Spending some time hitting different shaft flexes on the course is the best way to figure this stuff out. Perhaps your local couse has some demos you could play.
