Just thought I'd let you know but SC is gonna own everybody. I picked other because my dream putter is none, therefore I'd be chipping every shot in from the fairway.

Trust me, SC only owns this board. I see FAR more Odyssey's on the course than any other single brand. I've played several times in foursomes where Everyone but me was playing a 2 ball.

Yeah I know a ton of pros always have odysseys in their bag. I bet that half the people who voted for Scotty haven't even hit one yet, though.

I dunno, a LOT of people on this site (far more than average) have Scottys listed in their signatures.

Why would someone do that? I think that is not true, most people who don't hit them don't like them because they cost $300, and then they hit them, and then some think the price is worth it.

I never tought that I would write this, I went and tried out some putters. I really liked them and I found a used gun-blue CIRCA '62 #5 HAND CRAFTED . I made 4 out of 5 medium putts and some long putts. It felt great, I think that I could lower my putting average significantly with this putter. If anyone had told me yesterday that I would trade in my SABERTOOTH for any putter, I would have called them crazy. This putter has a hand stitched leather grip, and is milled to perfection. I am a machinist and the milling is great. It is even milled on the underside in the cavity for correct weighting. The only thing missing was the original headcover, so if any of you have an original headcover for sale please let me know. Also, if anyone knows how I can find out the year please let me know. I have the serial # and it has the gun-metal care sticker on it.

The Scotty Cameron archive suggest the Circa '62 #5 is a 2006 putter:

http://www.scottycameron.com/putters...289&seasonID;=2 Headcover designs can be found here and there is a thriving trade for them on ebay! I've seen some fetch more than $300! www.cameroncollector.com has a forum for selling headcovers! http://www.cameroncollector.com/foru...oard,40.0.html http://www.scottycameron.com/accesso...ails.aspx?id=2

I would love to try out a Scotty Cameron, just to feel for myself what all the fuss is about. Same goes for Mizuno irons. I plan on getting a set of MP57's. Hopefully the price will come down soon after the new line comes out.

I suggest you try one before you buy one. They feel like any good putter. Responsive but possibly unforgiving. These qualities are common to every putter available. Some are more forgiving, which might make them unresponsive. As for the name, Scotty Cameron, it means nothing. Has a certain cachet, but if they were demonstrably superior, everyone with any money would have one, especially pros who don't have to pay to own one. My personal favourite, the Odyssey Black #1 is (to me) superior to the many Camerons I have tried. The Studio Style (again, for me) was the deadest and biggest piece of junk I had ever putted with. And the idea that German Stainless Steel feels better - let's see someone put some money up to prove they can feel the difference. But hey, some pros play that model, so who am I to judge?

I think Scotty Camerons are more of the 'dream putter' due to the expense. My favourite is the Ping anser, although Oddysey offer the best value imo and a great feel.

Well my dream putter would be the Scotty Cameron Napa Valley putter. It is amazing looking. I love the look of traditional blade putters.

lefty39, great choice on the scotty napa. Check out the YES Sophia, you may like it alot and youll actually be able to afford it moreso then the napa.... :) I think I got my Sophia on ebay for 70ish, used and MINT. Also came with a killer gripmaster leather grip. Sometimes ebay is the best for stuff like this.

I apologize for jumping the gun. I still think that

putters are a really good product, however not for me. I spent some time putting with it and did good, however not as good as with my SABERTOOTH. I didn't have the confidence that my SABERTOOTH gives me. It is an aggressive looking putter and it gives me the confidence to putt aggressively. So I guess that I own my dream putter.

I played with a Yes Tracy for the last two years, which was fantastic, and then fell prey to the "why not try a new putter?" syndrome, on the idiotic theory that a new putter would suddenly get me putting 28 a round instead of 34 (no practice necessary). In short order I started using an Odyssey White Hot blade and then two or three months ago the new Scotty Cameron Newport 2, and my putting stayed about the same -- 33 34 35 36, with a couple 31s thrown in and a single 30 on a day when my approach shots all fell about 5 feet closer to the pin than normal.

The putter I really wanted and which I finally broke down and bought last month is the Yes Callie Forged, which is without question God's own putter. 31 31 31 30 30 31 32. Soon 29.

The putter that never allows a 3 putt and never misses inside of 10 ft is my dream putter.

Find me this putter, I would pay a rediculous amount of money for it... even if the brand name was acme.
