I bought a sleeve of HX HOT BITES and tried them out today, however I had a terrible round. Not the balls fault though. I just wasn't playing well I really like my FREAKS, however I would like a little more control around the green without alot of driver spin. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I tried out the HX Hot and the Hot Bites earlier this year... the HX Hot are the ones I am playing with now.

The Hot Bites seemed like they scuffed too easily and werent as long. I liked the HX Hot purely for the distance factor... at least they seemed longer to me. Around the green they perform avg to above avg... depends on how well I strike it.

I love the feel of these when putting. Can't tell much of a difference between these and the HX Hot from over 100 yds out.

But they're too expensive for me. I'll continue to play D2 Feel at $1 per ball.

If having to use more than 2 balls a round just because of wear is tear is ok with you, then jump on them. They definately have durability issues.

I like them, but they definately have wear issues. In my opinion it is due to a combination of Callaways Hex dimple pattern and the soft cover. There is a very sharp 'high point' along the dimples that just gets annihilated on the balls for me, and not just from wedges.

Hot Bites are great for putting andf chipping with a lob wedge (they do bite!) - but...for me, they take my fade and turn it into a wicked penalty-inducing slice. Not great for someone who doesn't hit straight I think...

I have played them for a few rounds. They are a decent softer feeling ball. However they do scuff/mark really easy. I don't ever scuff balls, however I scuff these all the time.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
