Sketchy.

Oh Well, apparently after 60 days, if the dispute hasn't been resolved, paypal decides what to do.

Why don't you call or email again and get an updated status. If you don't like what you hear, ask for an immediate refund. It sounds like they didn't handle your sale well, but you also can do some things to try and move it along.

First off, I'd like to thank those who responded to Dent's posting defending SubSeventy. Let's keep in mind, SubSeventy has only been doing business in the US since March of this year, but has been very successful in Europe for several years. Dealing with Customs in three different countries can be a royal pain! Canada seems to be the worst. I appreciate the fact that when you fill out a contact form it is not going through, our company in the UK has been asked several times to fix it, and they have yet to do so. I am posting my personal e-mail address here so you can now e-mail me direct, and hopefully will not have this problem again. I can assure you that SubSeventy is a reputable company that does care about its customers. Any business has its growing pains in the first 18 months or so, but we make every attempt to satisfy our customers if there is a problem. Keep in mind we are not perfect, only human. When ordering pants from SubSeventy, these are custom made pants, specific to your waist and length, and depending on where you live, could take from 21 to 28 days for you to receive them.

I think we all appreciate that you took the time to post here and to provide an alternate means of communication.

However, as a third-party observer, I can't help but notice that you didn't address the underlying problems that Dent cited:
(1) It's been 7 weeks since he placed, and paid for, his order and still no product. (2) No communication except when he filed a PayPal claim, and then nothing after. (3) Still no tracking number or any other way to verify that SubSeventy ever shipped his order. (4) No initial disclosure on the website that it could take as much as a month (or almost 2 months in this case) to receive an order. I think everyone assumes, unless there is a specific and obvious notice to the contrary, that when we place an order that the seller has the product in stock and will ship immediately. (5) Where is Dent's belt?
Until these issues are resolved, I think you are going to find that most people here will be hesitant to order from SubSeventy.

Thank you for responding to my post. Dent's order was placed 8-16.
Was shipped to him 9-22. Unfortunately when shipping to Canada, because of customs restrictions, we have to personally go down and fill out paperwork with UPS directly. I'm not sure why the shipping personal did not get a UPS tracking #. I will look into that. I'm not aware of any PayPal complaint, as all monies go directly to the UK. I could not communicate back to Dent, because I never got an e-mail or phone call. Had I, I would have responded immediately, as others have noted that I answer all questions promptly, and
am very helpful. This was merely an oversight on my part. I am in charge of running the US division, and no matter what person dropped the ball, it is ultimately my responsibility, and that is why I'm taking the time to address this. That's also why I posted my personal e-mail so people can reach me directly due to the problems with the webform from the UK. I believe the majority of our customers are happy with SubSeventy.

Every single thing I've heard was pretty sketchy. It kindof seems sketchy that your shipping wasn't working right, that your customer service wasn't working right, that your complains weren't working right, that you have no contact info, and that it takes over 7 weeks to recieve a piece of clothing.
Just my .02

From the outside looking in it's easy to say this is wrong, that's wrong, however, as you can see from my earlier post, I put my personal e-mail out there. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and you certainly are too, this is why I've spent my entire Sunday trying to get this fixed. I'm a father of four, and I would not want my 16 year old son getting ripped off for any amount of money. Thanks for your input.

I will say that I a have a pair of pants and a belt and I am VERY HAPPY with my purchase, and will be ordering more pants in the new future. Dent I think the thing with customs is the reason you haven't received your stuff. I received my stuff right on time. Again I think the delay is with customs, and if you are in the US and thinking about ordering, then I would say go for it, their stuff is top notch!

I just don't like to buy off the internet anymore.

I ordered a pair of shoes from a reputible dealer, and di not recieve them for 4 months. Turns out they sent them to a house in Washington (Don't ask why) and then they decided instead of sending me another pair, the had the people the sent them to ship the shoes to us. In a half torn, duct tape covered box.

We sent countless emails, and never got a response once.

So it could mean that the company made a mistake, but doesn't want to take blame for it. I honestly doubt that is it, but that's what happened to me.

My opinion would be to complain and complain to paypal until they decide to take action.

OK, here is a success story from A happy customer. I just recieved my Platinum Tour Pants and love 'em. Talked with Steve several times and actually got return calls from him. Sub Seventy is a British company, that sells from the internet to US and Canada. Everything is custom made to order. Where the hold-up is is in your countries customs department. I got an E-mail stating delivery on the 8th and to my surprise that is when they were on my doorstep. These things are worth the wait. And if you wear the other designer, you know who I mean. Same quality, Better price.

Maybe I'm just being cynical here, but I'm not convinced that customs is the problem. I seen skis, snowboards, and golf clubs get held up in Canadian customs . . . but not a belt.

I still have a question about why, if in fact the belt was shipped out on September 22nd, no tracking number was provided.

I'm not trying to hurt anyone's business or anything. I'm just not convinced it is a problem with customs, and not a foul-up on the seller's end.

Dent, have you received the belt yet?

Odd that you signed up today and made this your first post. I don't want to sound cynical either but the writing style and grammar you used sounds eerily like some of those bogus review websites that try to make unscrupulous companies sound like they are the shiznet. Maybe I'm wrong here but this is my take on this post.

My Equipment:
Northwestern 3-, 5-, 7- and 9-wood;
Goldwin AVDP Irons (5-10 plus PW);
U.S. Golf 60 degree wedge;
See-More Putter; Bushnell Yardage Pro 1000 Rangefinder;Golflogix GPS.

I still have a question about why, if in fact the belt was shipped out on September 22nd, no tracking number was provided.

What I gathered is that it was shipped out two weeks after he ordered on Aug 16 - which would be Aug 30. He posted on September 22. Not to argue, but to me, that makes it worse (September 22 being more understandable.)

Smallville, I completely agree, I was thinking the same thing when your post came up. In my war with Quaker (long story, but I was ripped off by "creative pricing" and sent an email) just like with subseventyguy, customer service pointed fingers and everyone else was blamed...but they sent me FOUR free products. Since I can barely afford food, that was much appreciated. Since we're talking about a BELT and not a set of clubs/whole wardrobe/whatever, I think that would be a fair deal for Dent, too. You better fill us in as soon as you get it!

This is for Smallville, I joined and posted today because I recieved my pants and wanted to put another twist on this. I understand the issue, but to say not to do business with a company is kind of harsh. And I am not or do not work for an unscrupulous company, I have defended my country and put my life on the line since 1993 as a firefighter, I'm sorry if my post had big words, but I have had no problems with sub-seventy and wanted to get my point across

fdstud -

Fair enough, it was just my take, that's all.

Still seems like a long time to get a belt though. How do they custom make a belt? I went to the website, they have two sizes. I've ordered things from Taiwan that didn't take but a couple of weeks. I've also ordered off a website of a Manchester Soccer team that took less than two weeks to get here. Clothing, mousepads, dart flights. But no belts.

true UK to the US is much quicker, but I sold a set of Irons on EBAY and it took 18 days to get to Canada from Florida. It is not the belt I guarantee...it is canadian customs. My opinion is they are reputible, that was all...and I was going to start a separate post but I'm not allowed Yet. But I am a member of BSG( lol) and TGS this is one I just found out about. That is why I just joined

And if you wear a 34" take my advice and order a 36", waist runs smaller, I was stationed in mildenhall UK and british sizes are smaller, same with shirts

Ah wow, look at all those posts.

Sorry guys, haven't really been on here that much anymore since golf season is over:

Recieved a PM from subseventyguy about the belt when I filed a paypal dispute. It appears I was dealing with two different people. I was dealing with one on a paypal dispute who was slow to respond to my questions, but did so later on.

Then Subseventyguy emailed me personally and apologized for the mishap. After all this I do appreciate their customer service. Because I never got my first belt, he sent out another white belt for me, and at no charge included an extra black belt! I was really happy with that. He also sent me a tracking # so I could track the package this time.

Again I apologize for the title of this thread, as it is definatly misleading. I was just really frustrated at the time and Posted a stupid title. Of course I don't feel the same way anymore.

Should have my belt soon.

Although I am slightly concerned with the tracking as soon as I saw this:

Type: Package
Status:
In Transit
Shipped To: WINNIPEG, NS , CA
Shipped/Billed On: 06/10/2008
Service: GROUND
Weight: 1.00 Lb

It says NS which I presume stands for Nova Scotia. When it should infact be Manitoba. (MB) I'm sure that will effect shipping.
