Any suggestions on a Titleist model?

They're all pretty stellar putters. Excellent craftsmanship. Just pick one out that looks and feels good to you. Thats what putting is all about.

Eric, Looks like you must watch the golf channel too much like other people I know.

I don't watch TGC much - just 19th Hole and Big Break. Every other time I turn it on they're showing a re-run of a Champions Tour event or they're running an infomercial with a guy screaming "POW!"

Your prediction appears to be rather good, and I suspect you're correct cause you use Titleist equipment. Bye the way, I need a new putter, my putter is from 1980 and really bad. I do OK with it but my PRO says I'd be a lot better of with the newer types. Any suggestions on a Titleist model?

Probably best reserved for another thread somewhere. And it really depends on what you like... mallet? Not? Center-shafted? Heel? Start a new thread and you'll get some answers there.

agreed, erik. wie did not "earn" some of what she has gotten. but the argument was about "deserving" what she gets and it's silly to say that she doesn't deserve any of her exemptions. simply put, she just has to win.

if michelle is serious about going to college, she may only play a dozen tournaments/year and may never play a full LPGA season...she could very well be out of golf by the time she's 25.

i think you have to fault the silly criteria of the world rankings or the companies/tournaments that offer the exemptions, but to take it out on michelle is misplaced, IMO.

Take it out on Michelle? I don't really think she's reading this nor am I in the gallery screaming Obscenities. I don't know her so it would be difficult at best to take anything out on her.

In addition, she played a great tournament and deserves an atta-girl for her first professional paycheck. I will relax on my obvious dislike of her presence the more she plays well AND the more she stays away from the men's events. She has no business what-so-ever on any men's tour.

If she's serious about competing with men she could silence everyone by going to Q-School.

Q-School would eat Wie alive. Well, then again, they talk about Q-School being hard because of all the pressure... you either make it or you don't. If Michelle didn't make it she has a bunch of exemptions to fall back on. Most Q-School players don't have that luxury.

Michelle Wie is now SECOND in the WWGR.

Annika Sorenstam: 18.57
Michelle Wie: 10.03
Paula Creamer: 9.44
Yuri Fudoh: 7.16

Yuri is sitll there. Natalie Gulbis moved up to 14th (from 16th, I thi nk), etc. etc. Even more hogwash.

They've gotta get this thing straightened out FAST or it's gonna be a big joke. I'm willing to give them a little while to work it out... but not a full year. They have until May in my opinion.

agreed. michelle would not even get to the final stage of Q-school, IMO.

the ranking criteria needs to be tweaked, but i doubt it will get done by may...i bet they take a year to get it sorted.

    • Once, on a course in Middleton, Massachusetts that I used to love but has since closed down,  I hit the wrong half of a huge, UK style double green.  Then I made the hundred foot putt.  Tough to  forget that one.
    • No. But if I can still play next year, I'll almost certainly be even worse. That's the reality of not being young.🙁
    • I use GPS;  it may not be as accurate, but neither am I.
    • Back in my Army days a "gooch" was a particular part of the anatomy. Example, say Okeechobee is the b-hole of Florida, then Belle Glade would be the gooch. Seems he wears his name well.
    • I can't say that I remember a lot of individual putts, but I do have one specific memory.  The first time I played the Old Course, I had hit a pretty good drive on the 6th hole.  I had about 60 yards left, and due to the swale in front of the green, there was no chance of flying a wedge on or near the green and having it stop on the green.  My caddie recommended either a running 7-iron chip or a putt, and I took the putter and a pretty hard swing.  The ball rolled over humps and through hollows, disappeared into the swale in front of the green, and re-appeared heading right at the hole.  I ended up maybe 12 feet away.  The caddie turned and held out his hand to shake mine, and said "Now THAT was a golf shot!"
