I was taking a lesson and all of a sudden I saw a large spark and a weird noise. Checked out my driver and there was a good 2 inch crack in it. Anyone have any recommendations for a new driver in the sub 200 range? I like the traditional look of the R5, and not anything such as the hibore which looks terrible. I'm disappointed that my driver broke, but it is time for me to go to stiff shafts anyways. Thanks.

You might check with Taylor Made. They'd probably like to take a look at it from a QC standpoint and might give you a deal on a replacement.

If you can't get a discount on your replacement. I'd look into the '07 Burners. Nice club. $150 new most places.

I'd suggest that as well. Their prices have been dropping lately. I am very close to pulling the trigger on one but can't justify it since my fairway percentages will suck no matter what driver I use.

Actually, I just bought a 2007 Taylormade Burner! 150$ and im hitting it way farther than my old driver!

I really suggest you looking into that club!

The burner is a great club, I just am not sure I am a huge fan of the 50g shaft. Maybe just not used to it.

I don't know if this is possible, but you can get it reshafted with a bit heavier shaft or something like that?
