i love butterbrook. i live in wellesley and play leo j pretty much everyday in the summer, then nehoiden (wellesley college's course when it comes hs team) which is rather nice. On my team everybody belongs to brae burn, wellesley cc, the country club, charles river, woodlawn, and its so ****ing annoying. I played pine hills today, and it was gorgeous. Im going to look into getting a membership over at sandy burr, its nice and reasonably priced, however for some reason blackstone national keeps e-mailing my mother about memberships, so we might do that as well.

I played Leo J. a lot as well this past summer (I live in Newton). I would love to play nicer courses more often, but, as a college student, I just don't have that much disposable income, so I guess you get what you pay for. It's too bad though, I think that, similar to Ponky, with a lot of work it could be a great course. It's a Donald Ross design as well, but it's just not maintained at all.

Leo J is definitely in the same boat as Ponky... a lot of nice courses around here have great conditions but lack some creativity in their design.

I played Shaker Hills this weekend, with a 75 dollar twilight, and while the conditions were great I'd never go back there. So many of the holes were boring.

Now when I am back in Ireland I will spend 275 in a heartbeat to play Ballybunion again, any day of the week... now that was an experience.
