Just had another lesson last evening with the Pro and one of the drills he wants me to work on for consistent ball striking is to swing with my back to a wall. ie my swing plane was going flat at the top of the backswing and he says that you should be able to make a good swing with your butt pressed against a wall and the club should not touch the wall on the back or downswing, else your going too flat.
Has anyone else ever tried this or know if it is a good drill as I was ( and still am if I forget myself ) hitting the wall just after half way back. :(
It does however produce solid consistent strikes when you get comfortable with the idea

Yes I have heard of and tried this drill. Works fantastic for irons. Woods, I'm not so convinced about.

Look up Shawn Clement on Youtube, search for Hogan Power Move. He shows a similar drill in detail.

Shawn Clement shows that drill using a cut off club. I think you will be very limited to what club you can use and not hit the wall unless you are way bent over.
