I have played gold several different times over the years and has always just been a hacker. The last few months I have been able to play with some very good golfers and have greatly mproved my game. A friend gave me a Titleist 983K and I have finally gotten to were I can hit it very well. (It is 9.5 degree with a titleist shaft). One golf partner who is a lefty says if I like that club and want to upgrade he suggest a 905R with a V2 shaft. He has had a 905R and a 907 and said the only reason he likes the 907 better is it has the V2 shaft. Thanks for any comments about the club that has been suggested.

I think most people regard the 905r as more solid than the 907, however as a 905r player I am bias. Can't go wrong with the 905r although I will be most likely upgrading to the 909, heard its even more solid, more forgiving, and an improvement.

I also would love to hit the 905r, considering I just broke my driver and have been playing with my 3 wood off the tee. Love the standard look of it, and the $400 pricetag is edging me away from even trying the 909 series.

love my 905R..

picked it up at golfsmith for 150, almost brand new with a Graffaloy Epic shaft in it, great combo.

i came off a superquad TP with a v2, and i like the v2 alot more, the superquad felt really hot, but it lacked a solid feeling, i mean, you could distinguish a toe hit from a flushed shot, but you couldnt tell if you were very close. Where as with the 905, i can tell when im just off the sweet spot,

I did lose some distance wiht it tho, nothing much, just about 5-10 yards, but ive picked up alot! of accuracy with it.

(i was also a decently lon ghitter with the superquad, so it may not be the same distance loss for you)

I would I would pick up accuracy with the 905R over my current 983K. Should I also pick up distance?

coming from a 983, yes, i would think you would, at least your mis hits will carry farther, due to the increased head size.

Overall, if you can find a 905 series, the t or the s inclded, they are all great drivers.

My 983K is a 9.5 with the titleist reg flex shaft. I really want to stay with the reg flex what shafts came the 905r. My friend like I stated has the 905r and the 907 he says the 907 has the V2 and he thinks that is the only reason he likes the 907 better. I searched just a couple times and never seen the 905 with a V2. Thanks for the info.

    • . I've been Playing Golf for: 10 years, 1 year consistently  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 My typical ball flight is: fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: inconsistent ball strike   I caught the bug about a year ago and have been playing roughly once a week. Have been getting better with my short game and putting but my ball striking from tee and fairway lets me down. Had my first lesson last month which identified an over the top swing compensated by an open club face. Have been trying everything to get on plane over the last month. Have found that using a bend and press into my left leg as the trigger for my downswing coupled with finding the turn and rotation in both my arms to release the club properly has helped my get nearer to the correct plane. Video below is where I am with it currently. Haven’t taken this new swing to the course yet! Any comments or suggestions are welcome  Videos:  I've been Playing Golf for: 1 year properly  My current handicap index or average score is: 100 av score
    • That's always been the deal. You put in the work hyper focused on ONE or at most two things, so that you don't have to think about anything except a single feel or the target or something on the course.
    • Blind squirrel finds a nut and putted well. no, I decided to play a round being athletic rather than paralyzing myself with swing thoughts. I have no clue if I was doing what I worked on. It was the last day and I was tired of freezing at the top of the swing not know if one of four outcomes were going to happen.
    • Day 299 - 2025-07-26 I spent 15 minutes practicing but it was almost pointless. It wasn't good practice. I was not really in it, but I put the time in. Oh, I did some chipping work before-hand, and that was good. I could have just left after that. 🙂
    • Well that's different.
