A friend of mine back in the UK was asking me about buying a driver in the US. He is looking to buy one online (from a reputable store) pay for it with UK credit card and have it shipped to him in the UK. Does anyone know of an online store that will do this, or because of potential customs/duty issues do they avoid this?

If not I said he could send it to my house and I'll USPS it on to him, so anywhere that would accept a UK credit card would be great.

Didn't know if there were any British members that bought clubs stateside.

Thanks
Alexander.

Have bought several clubs - on ebay and The Golf Warehouse. On eBay i'd always make sure they deliver via USPS - which means the club will come via the internal post of the country (Ireland in my case). Anything coming via courier (UPS, Fedex etc) will be subject to customs in Ireland. The item may have to be new but this wasn't the case when I bought 2ndhand golf balls.

Try to get the seller to mark the item as "a gift" if possible to avoid this (I do this when buying all the time)

Thanks hawkeye, he's looking to buy new and when I suggested ebay it didn't go down well!

I looked at TGW and it mentions specifically on some Callaway clubs mentioned that shipping is only for international. Titleist ones seem OK.

    • Yeah, I think I misread that part. I read "in front of" and kinda skipped the rest.
    • We just completed our winter league (Jan 1 - April 30)  Our scoring was simple.  We used the 18 birdies app.  You get 1 point for every member of the league you beat head to head in an 18 hole round (no handicap).  You also get a point for completing the round.  Therefore 4 members play a round- winner of the round gets 4 points, runner-up gets 3, third gets 2, and last gets 1.  Points accumulate throughout the season.  You can play as many times as you want. Our winner accumulated 110 points while second was 102 and third was 97.  We had a total of 16 members in the league.  No issues whatsoever.  All about fun.
