Every glove I get I wear a hole in the thumb. I do use the grip where I cross my left index with my right pinky, but what does a hole in the thumb area mean. And no where else in the glove wears that much maybe a few dark areas, but not holes. just curious

Take a look at this. It might help (or it might not)

You should also look at Hogan's "Five Fundamentals." He explains the grip and what to look for.

Sometimes I think some thumb wear may be unavoidable. I get the same hole in my thumb but I thought I had a sound grip.

But, now that I think about it, you (and I) may want to re-evaluate the left hand grip, specifically how secure it can brace the club at impact. I've seen that you want the sensation that you can securely swing the club with only your left arm. With a neutral grip I don't really have that secure feeling. I have smaller hands and I think I need a stronger grip to feel like I can swing a club with only my left arm.

From what I've heard it may be a sign of gripping to hard but glover wear is also an indicator of where your pressure points in your hands when you grip the club.

It's not the sign of a swing flaw, it's the sign of a grip flaw.

Definitely shouldn't be holes in your glove anywhere from normal use. I play and practice a lot of golf and I generally go through two gloves each year max, and they never have holes in them when I retire them. They just stiff and unwearable from sweat and use.

As others have said, you're likely gripping the club to tight. That's usually the sign of a hole in the thumb. If you're getting holes elsewhere, that's a sign of other grip problems.
