ok i was gonna go with mp57 but recently have read great reviews about the 62. i havent hit the 62's yet and plan on it soon. but was looking for some input.

i am a 9-11 handicap
swing speed about 105-115mph

i was thinking project x 5.5 but not sure which irons. which are more forgiving and has anyone used both?

also, i was thinking of building a progressive set. would u recommend mx25 3-5 iron, or mp 52 or any other suggestions?

mp-57s are WAY more forgiving. MP-62s are more of a pure ball striker's iron. There's a set of MP-57s on ebay right now (ending in TWO minutes) with Project X 6.0 shafts.Item number: 350123840758 !

ok, i have the 57s, and they are extremely forgiving.
I got them new from my club pro for 400$
crazy price for a crazy set of clubs!!!!
they are the best irons ever!

I've hit the 62s and they aren't very forgiving. If you are a 10 handicap I'd go with the mp-57s or the mp-52s.

I could be convinced (fairly easily) to sell my MP-62s for a good price. I used them for about four rounds. Project X 6.0 shafts... make me an offer. Could be a good way to "try them" without losing out - as you could probably re-sell them without much of a loss.

I've had my MP-57s for a little over a month and like them better every time I take them out. I also have some MP-67s that I occasionally play with -- that I also love -- but the 57s are a bit more forgiving. They're sweet clubs.

I just took ownership of a set of MP 57s, while I haven't played them yet I am completely in love with the look and feel of them at address and swinging them in my living room. I am an idiot for buying new irons while staring dead into the teeth of a 4 to 5 month layoff. I just couldn't pass on them, and I can already tell I'll love em!

I love my 57's. I got mine about 2 months ago. Traded in AP1's for them. Wasn't a fan of those. I went with the 57's over the 52's cause they felt great and looked better IMO. I had no choice with the 62's since I'm a lefty.

yeah im heading to the local shop this weekend to try out the 3. but im pretty sure im gonna rock the 52 or 57. i love the 57, but i need a little more cavity on my 3-5 iron.

thanks for the offer on the 62's but, i get em for less than cost so unless you really want to give em up for cheap...

we shall see soon. thanks for the input, now it is only a matter of time.

erik whens the review for the 62's going to be up?

I left the 3-iron off my order when I got my new 57s. I hit a 3-hybrid way better. Still trade off between my 4-iron and my 4-hybrid, and I love my 5-iron. The 5-iron on the 57s is pretty easy to hit well (IMO).

MP-57's!!! Best Irons ever. Played MP-33's before getting the 57's.
Very forgiving but still workable. The best part is you don't have to compromise the "butter" feel.

i think the 62's have an amazing feel if u want a progessive set go with the titleist zb they are a proggressive set and u cant go wrong with titleist

    • While on vacation in Punta Cana a few weeks ago I played with rental clubs, Mizuno Pro 245's with KBS Tour Lite steel shafts. Surprisingly, I was blown away, not only by the distance, trajectory and dispersion I was getting but also about how soft and buttery they felt. It got me thinking.... IT'S TIME FOR NEW IRONS! Just yesterday, at my local Golf Galaxy, I tested them again side by side with the JPX Forged (recommended by the Mizuno rep who happened to be there) which also felt pretty good. Not as buttery soft as the 245's but they did produce slightly better numbers on off-center hits. Also, I haven't played with forged clubs with steel shafts in 10 years thinking I was getting too old and that I needed the lighter weight but these clubs with that shaft felt really, really good. So that's my long and drawn-out intro to my question: Does anyone here at TST play with either of these clubs and if so, what's your opinion?

    • By today’s standards that’s certainly true, but they weren’t having any trouble hitting golf balls in 2005 so I’ve equipped myself with what was among the very best equipment around that time for a very reasonable investment. If I get to the point where I feel like I’ve outgrown that stuff, I’ll reward myself with something more current. But for now I don’t need adjustable loft and lie and modern head shape, just a good quality, proven club with a clean club face. For now I’m going to concentrate on the basics. I know you can get more yardage with newer woods, but I don’t care about distance nearly as much as consistency, and you can’t buy that for any price.
