Just picked up one of the steel one's for £30 to keep in my second set. 58 loft.

What's the general opinion.

I'm usually a vokey or taylor made wedge man but couldn't turn that price down

I suggest you put it in your first set! They are very good and produce plenty of spin. I play these in 50* 54* and 60*. My bro plays the vokey and I find them both equally good, nothing to split them really. Where did you get it for £30? Was it new?

Cool, I got it for £30 from a place in the UK called sportshq which is an online retailer http://www.thesportshq.com/nike-golf...r-wedges1.aspx ...it was a one day only deal, I thought what the hell as I was looking for a 58 or a 60. How do you like the CCI's? I have them in my second set, only got them like 3 weeks ago and I am so impressed by them. Got them for £220. Think they will be making the jump.

ght a 60* to replace my worn-out Vokey. What a piece of crap! It was way too light and only felt better with 45 grams of lead tape on the back of the head. I couldn't recommend...but wedges are such a personal thing, kinda like putters...

I can't really fault the CCi's, they are solid irons. If I had to find some critisism in them I would say they are slightly numb when hit out of the centre, but only slightly. (I paid £249 for them in june).

Cool, I've only hit them 3 times at the practice ground but was impressed, nice flight and seem to fly straight.

PW is quite bulky in comparrison to the rest of the set though

Thats weird, when I was trying out wedges the other day I liked the SV tour because it was super heavy compared to every other wedge in the store. You shouldn't have got it with the hickory shaft dude.

Cleveland Hi-bore 9.5* stiff, Taylormade Burner T3 14.5* stiff, Mizuno mp 32 3-PW, Nike SV Tour Black Satin 52, 56, 60* wedges, Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 35 inches
In the market for a new driver, then my bag will be the shiz.

    • I know one recent college grad who's trying the same thing.  This guy was a Division III All-American, went on to play one year at Division I LSU, and is not working hard.  He won the Gulf States Open, a pro event, and made it to the second stage of the Korn Ferry Tour School late in the fall.  And didn't make the cut to get to the final stage.  I won't talk about swing or play stuff, but I believe there are a couple of things that are essential.  Obviously, talent, and drive, or work ethic.   I can't tell you how to do it, but you HAVE to get through it.  Golf is going to be your life, and it takes lots of work. Two more things that are really critical.  You'll need the facility to be able to practice.  My young friend stayed in Baton Rouge, as a past player on the team he can still use the LSU practice facilities.  And money.  Its unlikely you'll be able to work a full-time job and practice the way you will need to.  You'll probably need backing, from a parent, from a consortium of friends or club members., something to support you. Good luck, its not an easy path, but anything is possible.  Another young man from our area, Mike Brennan, just won for the first time on the "big" PGA Tour.
    • No one in the world is as smart as Phil thinks he is.
    • Get more comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you don’t like practicing then give up now. You don’t have the passion to become a pro. Unless that mentality changes you won’t do well under stressful situations.    Call the PGA Tour and ask. They probably have resources available.

    • Thanks man, sometimes it’s hard to improve bc when I’m not feeling comfortable I don’t like practicing bc I get frustrated. Any advice?
