Project X or Dynamic Gold

I was looking at some new wedges soon on account of my current wedges being very worn. I was also looking at some new irons this spring and i wanted to keep the shafts between the wedges and irons consistent. So i was just looking for some input on both shafts. Thanks in advance.

IMO, both shafts can be tweaked easally, but each have a different feel. I have both, plus Black Golds. With that said, I like my PX 5.0's the best.

The PX's are more expensive, but if money isn't a object KB tours have been getting great reviews.

I like any rifle shaft (project x especially) better than the dynamic golds. I was also told by a club fitter that the rifle shafts tend to be manufactured a little more consistently as far as the proper frequency and what not. He lost me in the details but that is what I got out of it. I once saw another club fitter take out 4 or 5 Taylor Made drivers with what were supposed to be the same shafts, they each had a diffn't frequency to them.

I hit the 6.0s in the x-forged, that I'm getting around Christmas hopefully, and loved them. I hit the S300s in Titleist Zms and absolutely hated them. Honestly they felt like crap and I just couldn't hit them solid, and I was in love with those clubs, so I was giving them a ton of leeway. PX easily for me.

I got some good info from Rebby and followed up with a clubfitter. If you are looking for a Dynamic Gold shaft that plays almost identical to a Project X, albeit with a little more height in the longer irons, try looking at the Tour Concept Dynamic Gold Irons. They are almost as expensive as the Project X, too and come in a variety of flexes as well as a grade in each flex.

For example, there is a Stiff Flex with an S1, S2 and S3 category.

If you can find them, give them a try. I'm having a backup set re-shafted with these, soon and can give some feedback if anyone is interested.

It all depends on what shaft works best for you.

I have the DG's in my 670's now but will be installing the Flighted's before I leave on vacation. I love the DG's. I can't say anything bad about them. However, I love the "step-less" look of the Flighted's. It gives me a nice, clean look to my ball.

What is the feel like compared to the DGs?

Well, for ME, the Rifle's have a more solid feel, which means better feedback, for ME.

You can't go wrong with either shaft. Like I said, I actually have the DG's in my irons now and love them. They feel great.

Well I went to Golf Galaxy today and only got to hit the Project X . I hit it in the ZB head as they didnt have the ZM with the right shaft. My swing was also very out of check so i only hit about three well but WOW when I flushed it the machine said I hit it 164 total, which is 10 yards past my usual flushed shot . In terms of feel, the Project X intensifies both mishits and flushed shots. I really liked it, although I will hopefully try it again when my swing is in check then make a final descision. I was very impressed though. Once again thanks for your help everyone.
