I'm getting a steal on a set of Mizuno MP-29 blade irons (2-pw in mint condition). Heard great reviews on the clubs and I like the way the blades look, but I won't be able to try them before I buy them. For 100$ I gotta go for It, right? Anyone ever played the 29's before? Thanks.

Since your a 20 handicapper i think the blades would be really hard for you to hit. As far as i no blades are for the golfer who is down to low single handicap and is a good ballstriker. I think you should go for more game improvement irons until you get your handicap down and you become more confident in your ballstriking

nah dont go for the game improvement irons, shoot for the blades. once you learn to hit them, your handicap will drop like crazy.

Thanks, guys. I went blades, I will be forced to learn to hit em' better and more consistantly. Maybe I'll take a few lessons. They are sweet!

I wish I got blades much earlier, I'd be a much better ballstriker now. I just got blades for Christmas.

690.cb aren't blades, blades have no cavity to them, but i can tell that your probly thinking of players irons...which the 690 cb's are.

As for the thread, i would not get blades, even though you did. However you got them for wicked cheap so i could see how you wanted them badly. I would wait until i was a low single digit before i would game them... even i dont use them, and im around a 7. However i hope you like them, and they help improve your game...dont get discouraged if you cant hit them a first-you'll catch on eventually.

Great choice! When I got my mp-67s, which are blades I was a 20 handicap. With these clubs I dropped 10 strokes off my handicap in a year. Hopefully you do the same. Good Luck.

I would buy them! I did the same thing when I got a good deal on my mp33 and never looked back 2 years ago. the other options is to play the mp29 up to 7 iron and play cavities for your other clubs.

I dropped from 8 to a 4 handicap and shot 3 rounds under par.

I just played my first round with my new MP-57s (was using R& Draw irons for a year). I am a 25 index player. I hit those new irons well - I love 'em! Anyway, the best thing to do is to just try something out to see if it works. I need to put in four more rounds, or so, but so far it feels like my accuracy will be better with these clubs. Yesterday I stuck some greens even with the 6 iron - w00t! I don't know if these are 'blades' (prob not), but they sure give me more feedback than the R7s.

If you don't like them you can turn them around on eBay quickly. $100 is a steal if they're in good condition. You can double that in a flash if they don't work out for you.
i would sugest a 2 hybrid if youre haveing trouble hitting the long irons go with a 2 and a 3 hybrid but i think it is good you are learning to hit baldes it will make you much better
