I would look for some closeouts on FJ's... the contour series, e-comfort, or the superlights... Greenjoys really aren't that great (not waterproof).

what size? I just bought a par of Etonic Dri-tech with Gore-tex golf shoes brand new for my son who is a size 8 for $26 including shipping on ebay.

There are about 85 items for men shoes for under $50 for all shoe sizes on ebay below

JMHO I could never buy shoes without trying them on first. But that may just be me. One thing I have noticed over the years, you sorta have 2 classes of golf shoes regardless of brand. There are the 2 year water proof warranty types that are usually $100-$300 or more. There are also 1 year water proof warranty shoes that are $100 down. My last two pair have been from the 1 year groups (Nike SP5 somethings, and my current Adidas) and both have maintained ther shape and water proof properties quite well.

I'd just go try some out. For $50ish (maybe a tad more) your options are pretty open. Try several pair on and walk around the store. If they don't feel comfortable walking around the store for 10 minutes, they will kill you over a 3 hour period on the course. Don't forget to get something that makes you feel absolutely balanced as well. I've tried shoes on that felt like they were pitching me forward toward my toes. That can't be good for the swing.

Good Luck!

Check out GolfSmith. They have the Snake Eyes Strike marked down to $39.99 from $129.99. I bought a pair when they were having their Friends and Family sale and got 'em for $23.99. They are 1 nice pair of shoes and for the price.....well you know.

Now THAT'S the way to golf shop. I do that all the time. I hit a SQ Sumo this weekend at Edwin Watts. I liked it OK, but Rockbottom has it for $50 cheaper. If I decide to get it, too bad for Edwin Watts. It's a global economy.

just go try a few pair on, then do a web search...

exactly...

just a note: I am a 13W and I have NEVER tried a pair of FJ's in that size that didn't fit. I ordered my shoes online w/o ever trying them on, but I have had three prior pairs of FJ's in that size and all felt and performed great. I think if you can find a similar shoe from say Adidas, Nike or FJ and that model fits, you might be fairly safe in ordering the older/cheaper model you find online. Obviously there are no guarantees, but some models have changed little except the outside appearance rather tham the structure of the shoe... i.e the FJ contours have a new design, but are the same shoe, but now the 08's are cheaper at many stores.
