That's not the right solution. (True) ladies should be able to compete in their own division. Mens' division should be 'open' (ladies/tg could compete there if they wanted). You could have another division called "open/others" which would be open to everyone *except* a (true) man. That last category doesn't need to be televised, just like the dinky oscars they give out.

I didn't say it was the "right solution".

I agree with you, another alternative would seem more logical...but it was a division that up until now, received no attention and the decision to drop it from the line up was already decided before she/he won. Incidentally, the drive Lana used to win the contest was only 243 yards.....during the qualifying events was was outdrove MANY times. It just happened that the women who were stronger during qualifications missed the grid during finals. So accuracy won that day...not distance.

      Well, I have a 2 hybrid, 4 hybrid and then play 6 iron onwards.  My best clubs are probably the 4 hybrid and the PW.  What I find is that loft is your friend in general which is why my 4 hybrid is so much better than my 2 hybrid.  Definitely disproportionately more so than the 5 or so degrees of difference in loft.  If you have hybrids, play them.  And consider loft as your friend.  Invariably you will get up to a loft where anything less will not get you more distance because of your club head speed.  Essentially the faster you swing the less lofted a club you can hit effectively.  For me it is probably a 4 hybrid and maybe a 7 iron though I could improve both with practice
