Playing with the Pro's at Trump National

I'm watching Daniel Chopra and Anthony Anderson at Trump National in Palos Verdes and on one of the holes, Trump put in a waterfall.

It is so stupid looking, like Trump just thew it in at the last second because his courses have to have waterfalls.

Funny thing is that at his course in Florida, I think the huge waterfall looks great. But, it is so out of place in CA.

Waterfalls, Gold everything, his name in larger print than anything else on the course. Signs of a megalomaniac. Jerry Jones is doing the same thing to the new cowboys stadium. I'm sure someone is currently trying to talk him out of multiple waterfalls in the roof or something.

I agree with you about Trump. yech.

But I liked the episode. I didn't know much about Chopra and he seems like he has a good sense of humor. Funny when he stuck one on a par 3 but about 2 feet short, he said the laser needed calibration - "the laser might need new batteries..." LOL Some of the pairings on that show just don't work. Like Christie Kerr and Joe Pesci. No chemistry at all and you could tell Pesci was not going to listen to one thing some broad was going to tell him. Painful to watch.

As a South Bay native, I don't think it looks so out of place here, it fits in fine with the natural caverns and oceanside of Palos Verdes. I don't think as a non-native you can say what looks out of place here. The waterfall on the first hole par 4 also borders the front of an elevated green which has water bordering the back of it as as well. It really forces you to place the tee shot well and it does not look bad at all. Now as for his picture on the water bottles, that's another story.

It might also be worth noting that this was not originally Trump's golf course. It was called Ocean Trails before he bought it and the waterfall very well could have been there before hand. The giant golden emblem however is all him...

I've played the course a couple times and I didn't find the waterfall to be that far out of place, though I'll admit it's not exactly natural looking.

For the average golfer, that course is so hard it's not even fun.

Yes my dad who is a 25 handicap got so frustrated it wasn't fun for anyone in the group. I lost an inordinate amount of balls that day and shot around 105 with all of the OB strokes I had to take.

That waterfall is just plain stupid.
