Does anybody use them? What are your overall impressions of them? What model do you use and how does it respond? I know Vijay and Boo are now with them and they seem very confident with them. I know the tour balls are better than the ones on the market, but they seem to be interesting. Love to hear some thoughts.

I've used the TriSpeed and I liked them. I thought they were very comparable to the Cally HxHot which is what I was looking for. I was happy that I got out of them what I expected.

From what I have been told, and it may be completely wrong... alot of the pro's are going to be switching the Srixo, Callaway, and Bridgestone balls this year purely because of the ProV lawsuit.

I think the AD333 is the best 2 piece ball on the market. The Z-UR/S are very good premium balls but I like the softer feel of the Pro V1 (they are also more durable too).

I wouldnt be so quick to jump on the Srixon bandwagon. Vijay and Boo are both sponsored by Cleveland, which also owns Srixon. It only makes sense that Cleveland would want their top players to use their clubs and their golfballs.
Thats not to say that Srixons arent fine golfballs, but Id say the switch was more because Cleveland said so than because the Srixons are better.

I used to use the Hi-Brid Tour ball they had. It was probably my favorite ball of all time. After I got 3 dozen on e-bay they discontinued them (I hate it when that happens). I have also used both the Z-UR series balls and have no complaints. If I didn't get Pro-V1's for free through my job, I would probably use them.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

That's quite true. The truth of it is those guys could play with Top Flite XL2000s and still find a way to score. It's amazing how many light years ahead of the amateurs that pros are when it comes to ball control.

I got a 2 ball sample pack of Srixon Trispeed for Christmas as a stocking stuffer. I kinda suspected it would play like an HX Hot, but I prefer higher spin balls. I think I'm going to save them for a really windy day.

+1000 here. I tried last year's Srixon's and I HATED them. To me, there are far more options out there for an outstanding ball before I would play Srixon.

They maybe better this year but Im not sure. For the money and performance, to me, BRIDGESTONE, TITLEIST, CALLAWAY, TAYLORMADE all make better balls.

I like what I have read about the soon to be released Z-Star, so I will not count them out. without trying them first. Having said that it will take a lot to convince me to switch from my B330's.

ZUR-S, Best ball I've tried and played to date - hands down. Pro-V comes close, but durability sucks and I don't like balls that don't stay white more than 2 holes.

I've played the Trispeeds and both Z-URs. I liked them all. Good balls IMO.

I bought one sleeve of the AD333s on Maui. Played the Maui country club, fun little course with my friends (one friend is a member) He told me Willie Nelson is a member there. Cheapest course on Maui if you can get on (no ocean views), but fun. I rented clubs and bought a sleeve of the AD333s. Great ball. High trajectory, plenty of spin.

Don't see them much at the stores I go to. Happy with the Gamer and D2 Feel (both are cheaper than the AD333s)

I reecently acquired some of the new Srixon Z-Star balls and they are very gud. Thay have a soft feel and are stil long of the tee but they dont have as much spin as the pro v1.

    • No, they will collect the "Stay & Play" cost at the Virtues on Sunday. I was a little surprised by that, I would collect on Saturday, but I guess the person doing the reservations & bills is located at the Virtues.  I think we can trust that none of us are going to run out on the bill and leave us in a lurch.
    • Thanks for following up. Since you're going to be booking the stay and play packages, does that mean you have to put up the money up front?
    • They're playing 16 games in each match though. Don't need much of an advantage before that number of players significantly loads things in their favor. The other team has to win 8.5 games to beat them. At a 65/35 split, that's a lot and pretty unlikely (about 10% of the time).
    • Why does the second sentence have to be true? If they're used to playing a tough course that's improperly rated, they're going to both have inflated indexes and have higher skills relative to them. If their home course features a variety of different challenges, I don't see why their game wouldn't travel well. And on the flip side, some courses and their members take pride in how hard their course is and how tough it's rated, and that bit of vanity ends up hurting them in these kinds of competitions.
    • I discussed it today but can call back and re-confirm.  I would love to be wrong on that point. Note: That may have been before they changed the hotel due to lack of room at Hampton Inn. Update on Friday Hotel: If I can give a count to EagleSticks they can get us a discount on Friday night at the hotel.  I do not have the $$ but should be much lower than the $249 the hotel quoted me. I do not have my list with me for the Friday hotels but if you want one, please post ASAP and I will get the rate and get them held. Thanks @billchao for catching this.
