how many of you guys try to run through the golf course as fast as you can and try to get it done on 3.5 hours or less??

if your one of those guys... when do you take time to smell the bermuda grass?? seriously?? i have never had fun when im trying to rocket off after every hole-out...

i walked 18 the other day and it took me 4.5 hours. nobody in front of me and nobody behind... just me and my buddy cutting up while walking down the fairway and discussing politics and women during warmup swings...

golf is much more fun without a watch on your wrist. try it sometime.

unless you got somebody on the teebox behind you... then get a move on....

A walked round with myself and 3 other guys usually takes about 4 hours. The biggest problem is it's really hard to enjoy a round when the guy in the clubhouse allows a single or double in a golf cart to tee off 5 minutes after we did.

I played a 3.5 hour round once....there were just two of us on an afternoon in a cart.....still took our time, really enjoyed it....great weather, all the time in the world......nobody behind or in front....

I don't understand the 4 some that plays a round of golf in 3 hours....they all have their own cart, nary a practice swing, putt within 10 feet of the hole and pick up......playing as a 2-some, I've actually waived thru a 4-some to get them off my back, LOL....

Rounds should be 4 to 4 1/2 hours IMHO......plenty of time to enjoy, relax, and play a great round.....anthing over 5 hours is rediculous, even on the weekends....yes, it's great to relax and enjoy the round, but rounds in excess of 5 hours include a lot of standing and just wear me down

Honestly, if it took me 6 hours to play, I would be perfectly happy. There is no other place I'd rather be anyway. Of course, I do not have a wife, kids or even dogs, so I've got no place to be and all day to get there.

On days I play by myself I'm in no rush, but can still finish in about 3-3.5 hours if not held up (I can really play in about 2.5 or a little less, but that's just not much fun for me).

Hey ,just go with the flow.Playing well is more important than how long it takes.I dont like hanging around when its cold but theres always the hip flask and a good bit of banter to keep you warm. In the summer I couldnt care less how long it takes as long as Im back in the 19th for a well deserved pint before the barmaids gone home (thats another story)

me too buddy.. i can spend an entire day at the course... i usually spend between 6-7 hours there every time i play..

i hit a bucket of balls at the range to warm up before the round, then spend about an hour at the chipping/putting greens.. it usually takes me about 4 hours to finish a round with my buddies, and then i go back to the range afterwards to work on whatever shot i couldnt hit well during the round.. i have way too much fun out there to want to leave early...

100% on board with you....love to be on the golf course....6 hours is perfect....1 warming up, 4.5 on the round, and another half hanging with buds and having a cold one afterwards.......but 5.5 hour rounds grind on me....also, I do enjoy time with the wifey and consider weekends as valued time.....sitting around waiting on slow play just doesn't appeal to me....maybe I am in the minority here

You can read my philosophy in my sig, but as long as I don't have a gap in front or a logjam behind me, I like to play a relaxed round. I DO have a wife, but I play most of my golf while she's at work (lucky me ), so I'm rarely pressed to be anywhere else. If I have a conflicting appointment, then I either play only 9 holes or I just don't play that day.

I love having the time to talk and have a good time. Constantly rushing to get to the next box is annoying and distracting.

I get off work at 3:15pm, and the girlfriend gets off work at 6:00pm. Between my work and my home is a crappy little 9-hole course. I can do nine holes and be home before the girlfriend gets off work, no hurry, no fuss. Weather permitting, of course.

Part of enjoying a round (for me ) is keeping a steady pace of play. My partners and I have no problem walking 18 in 3.5 hrs....not rushing just playing "ready golf". 5+ hour rounds suck IMHO.
